With Sympathy...

Hi everyone, well this week has been a bit of a sad week for me. My friend lost her grandmother, and one of my REALLY awesome clients lost her elderly cat.
I work at a Veterinary Hospital for those of you that didn't know.
So the silver lining to my story is ...... I got to make some cards! WOOHOO
The blue card is an easel card with the stamped image from The Rubber Cafe called
I colored them with pencils and added some sparkle with Stickles and three brads.
I roughed up the top layer to give it some dimention and popped that layer with foam.
The bottom layer I used a border punch to make the paw print edge and some old misc stamps I had laying around. I layered the dark blue behind that and again popped it up so the "easle" part had something to set up against.

This sympathy card, stamped with Inked Poppy is very easy to make so its great for any skill level but in my opinion it's one of simple elegance....ok I may be pushing it by saying its elegant HAHAHA but I still do like the result.

Ok joking aside, I really wanted the poppy to pop so I colored the image with pencil crayons and I muted down the rest of the card by using cream colored Pugnacious Signature Paper and some scrap patterened paper that is also cream and black. I layered them ontop of eachother using foam tape to add depth. Finished it off with three black pearl type embellishments and tada sympathy card complete.

I hope you all enjoyed what I had to offer today, thank you.

LOL I didn't have the colors I wanted(I also don't have the collection that you do yet) and I need to practice first...I took a class once but it was very basic and a long time ago...I need to read up on it or maybe watch a video or something.

Hey.... that would be a good topic for you to do a post on the blog!!
