What inspries you ?

Do you get lost on Pinterest or blog surfing? Let me tell you I can get lost for hours and hours. Once I have completed my tour I have no idea how I ended up where I did. There is so much inspiration and amazing talent out there ... I decided to take the Second Floor Challenge on . Did I mention I am a huge fan of Julie ... I read her blog everyday  Why?  You have to see for yourself .... shes really cool.

(To the right is a picture of Julie and I at CHA 2012. She is on the left .)

Well I have had a creative burst of energy over the last few days which has taken me down another path other than stamping (WHAT!) I know crazy. Everyone is dabbling in this Mix Media craze and I thought it was high time I played too.
I made a great cup of tea, turned on some music, and let myself go.
During my blog surfing and some linky party I ended up following late last night I found a blog The Jane Davenport blog
and this is where I found my inspiration she is beautiful ...

I call her "Pirate Booty"

So I did my own take on her using all Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft products , ScrapHappy Glue and You're so fine glitter . Julie's challenge was to use something that you have never used ... I found this Model Magic clay from Micheal's on clearance and thought that it would be cool to use for something one day so I picked up 5 packages and its been sitting in my craft-room for months .

The Clay was used to 3-D her tail and the heart embellishment , I then used textural-accents-sampler glaze and applied it over the top of the clay and applied torn dictionary pages over top of the fins and booty . The best part about this clay is that you can paint and work on it right away and it will continue to harden on its own and there is hardly any moisture to deal with. The clay as I have tested also takes Gelatos and Big Brush pens without difficulty .

I hope that you go out surfing today and find a bit of inspiration to get you creating.

Supplies Used:

Inks/Paint: Textural Accents Sampler, Metallic Gelatos, Big Brush Pens - Green and Blue, You're So Fine Glitter, Scrap Happy Glue
Accessories: Model Magic Clay

This is soooo cool! You did such a great job with the mermaid "bootie" and the detailing on her. Love the hair and the flowers. Now can you mass product these because I know of at least three people that want one!
