Thanks Card with Jen Matott

Jen Matott here to share a card that I made using the Spellbinders Majestic Elements Exquisite Circles dies,  Fabulous Phrases, and Card Labels stamps. I love Halloween and the traditional orange and black color schemes. I wanted to create a card that used those colors without the Halloween theme!  This card came together with lots of different materials.

 

 First, I started with a piece of watercolor paper and some Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Gelatos in the yellow set.   I created an yellow-orange background paper.  Gelatos are so much fun to work with and can create a paint look to surfaces.  For this one, I simply scribbled some of the Tangerine and Lemon onto the paper and used a waterbrush to spread the color over the page.  When it was dry, I cut it smaller and used the dies to cut the opening.

 

 The negative space of the paper was filled with a black dotted paper.  I die cut another shape with a smaller die with book paper.  One of the Card Labels was stamped (the circles) using Faber-Castell's Stamper's Big Brush Pen in Black.  The smallest die was used to create the popped up center!

 

 After putting the pieces together, I added the Jellie Dots in Black Soot & Root Beer with Scrap Happy Glue and Stick 'Em Up tool.   I love these little gems!

 

 Using the Stamper's Big Brush Pen again, I stamped the frame and sentiment.  Before adding it to the card, I tied a piece of orange ribbon on and popped it up!

 

 Here's a close up of the popped up center and Jellie Dots... I love this die set as well!  Just so pretty and lots of combinations.

I hope you liked my Halloween color scheme inspired card.  Even though this isn't a holiday card, it has the same bold colors.  It's fun to use colors that are associated with holidays for bold effect!
