Well I could not think of a better way to kick off my designing at
The Rubber Cafe, than to do a little card making for my
favorite holiday....St. Patrick's Day! I used the versatile
The Celtic Rosette was embossed in a soft brown on
Pugnacious Signature Paper in white. I cut it in half,
and attached the halves to the embossed background
with about 1" in between, which I filled in with the strip of
black cardstock and the yellow seam binding ribbon. The
shamrock piece is canvas colored with Faber-Castell
I've included close ups of the steps:
I spritzed the canvas with water, then colored it with
the gelatos, adding the lighter color in the center:
Next I started blending them with water and a stiff paint brush.
Once I got the blending where I wanted, I dried it a bit with
a heat gun, and then traced the shaped I wanted.
Next I cut out my shamrock, distressed the edges, and it was ready
for my card. A bow, button and twine finished the card.

Because I just absolutely love the Celtic Rosette, I couldn't
help but make a completely different card to show it's versatility,
this one using fussy cutting and layering of the stamp:
I stamped half of it on each side of a square, with black ink, as the
bottom layer, then added a rosette embossed in brown, then a rosette
embossed in green, fussy cut and popped the image up with foam tape
for added dimension. Finally the center piece was embossed again
in brown, and popped up as well.

It's all layered onto MME "Come Away With Me" paper, then embellished
to perfectly position and hold them in place!
Thanks for stoppin' by the Cafe', and hope you enjoyed this
wee bit o' the blarney today!
