Put on your painting smocks, because today is Paint Day at The Rubber Cafe!
I wanted to share a page taken out of my art journal which is a collage affect consisting of pages from an old children's book, acrylic paints, an old photo, some markers and, 2 background stamps from The Rubber Café!
In today's technique, you'll see I put away my ink and used acrylic paints to achieve the wonderful effects, and dimension that is hard to fully appreciate in photos.
I used the Background Basics 2 to create wonderful stripes and dots, and the Card Labels stamp set allowed me to create circles to highlight focal images. When stamping with paint, I find it easiest to apply the paint directly to the stamp using an old brush or disposable foam brush applicator. *hint... be sure to clean your stamps right away before the paint dries.
The best part of Mixed Media art, is there are no rules! If you don't have an art journal, use a scrap of cardboard, or 110 lb wt Watercolor paper, that's sold in pads of all sizes.
Most of all be creative and just have fun!
