Poppy Thanks

Hi all!!  Today at The Rubber Cafe', I have a card and a simple gelato tutorial to share with you:

This card is a soft, pretty layered card made with The Rubber Cafe' stamp Inked Poppy layered onto a background made with gelatos.
To begin, I cut my 2" by 4" piece of white Pugnacious Paper and then on my non-stick mat I colored three coordinating colors of gelato like so:

I used the soft pink and the orange so I could blend them together (I wanted coral). I added just a couple of drops of water and using a brush mixed my colors together.

Taking a piece of waxed paper, I crumpled it up, and dipping it into a bowl of water, (shake off any excess) and rubbed it around in the gelato mixture on my mat.

Now for the fun part-  I dabbed or pounced the waxed paper onto The Rubber Cafe' Pugnacious Paper piece using the wax paper as an applicator and created a soft watercolor looking background as you see here:

I finished this piece by stamping on it with the Vintage Treasures ledger stamp, and inked and distressed the edges.  I did the same with the small square, but stamped the "Thanks" sentiment from the Fabulous Phrases set using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.

The Inked Poppy stamp was colored in with Copic Markers, fussy cut, and then mounted with foam tape on the gelato background, and matted it with to Black cardstock diecut with Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangle die.

A simple bow, button and Jellie Dots attached with my Scrap Happy Glue are the finishing touches.

I really enjoyed my playtime in the Cafe' with you today....hope you did too!
