Thanks a Bunch! -Chalkboard Technique

Hi Everyone!
I've been playing with The Rubber Cafe's background stamps and in today's card I'm using Background Basics 2 to back my simple sentiment, showcasing the chalkboard technique.

On the chalkboard panel, I embossed the Thanks a Bunch sentiment, and the sweet little daisies from the Hey Cupcake! set frame it out nicely.
Here is a super close up....I did not color it perfectly, to keep the look of hand-drawn chalkboard art.....

To get the true chalkboard look, I colored in the daisies and part of the sentiment using chalk markers and then used a sponge to smear white ink around the chalkboard panel so it would look a little "dusty".

The background panel is stamped with a striped effect using The Rubber Cafe's, Background Basics 2 set.   The picture below shows the background in progress.  I stamped the center first, then stamped half of the card at each end.

By layering strips of black card stock covering the spaces left in between make it easy to not have to worry about matching up my lines the whole length of my card, and providing a perfect space for my Chalkboard panel.

The card is finished with a simple button and bow, and I used our Scrap Happy Glue to adhere Pearl Jellie Dots to the punched border along the bottom.

"Thanks a Bunch" for stopping by the Cafe' today!
Get those background stamps inked up and give 'em a workout!

This card is perfect! I am so lovin the Chalkboard look. Yours is beautiful. Could me loving it be due to us not having them anymore at school?

hmmm...still have chalkboards at my school, just can't use them. the dust interferes with the new technology. LOL.
Do and always have loved that slightly washed away look. This is a really cute card.
