Creative Cafe' Kit!! Love, love this kit!! This is a set of Spooktacular Tags
made using the awesome "Add On" stamp set available to purchase here
with the kit!
Here's the entire set of tags I created using this fabulous kit:
All the tag bases were cut out using Spellbinders Labels 18 dies (second
from the largest size). And embossed using the die.
Then I added all the kit goodies, here are some specifics:
Tag #1 was done using the chalkboard technique:
I embossed the Trick or Treat sentiment in white on black cardstock, trimmed the sentiment with my trimmer, then smudged it up with white Cat's Eye chalk ink.
On the tag, I embossed the star stamp in black on top and bottom (you can see it peeking out, and I have a tip about that coming up later in this post).
I added a 1/2 inch strip of the spider web paper right across the middle (it was trimmed to fit the curved tag after it was glued on).
I used foam tape to add the sentiment, foam tape to add the little bat which was stamped using Black Tuxedo Memento ink, and smudged with white chalk ink. The Queen & Co goosebumps and some ribbon are the final touches.
If you notice....the ribbon has a pattern to it. I took the gorgeous orange seam binding ribbon from the kit, and stamped it with the "31st" stamp in the kit using the Memento ink.
Here's a closeup look:
For tag #2, I used the same sentiment, this time embossed in black:
I cut a strip of purple cardstock (about 2" long, and 1" wide) and piece of the spider web paper (about 2" long, 3/4" wide). I snipped a "V" in the bottom to make them into a banner. These were glued together, and glued to the base (hanging off a bit as you see), then I glued the sentiment directly on top. I cut a 3" length of straw, and glued that above the sentiment. The little kitty cat embossed in black on the purple cardstock and then fussy cut is a cute accent. A purple Queen & Co goosebump and purple seam binding and I call this one done!
Tag #3 uses the amazing detailed cemetery gate stamp and a washi tape rosette:
Here's a tip for lining the gate up on the tag. I also did this with the stars on tag #1:
I used the storage sheet which is printed with the stamped images in black. It makes it very easy to see where placement is, or if an image will fit, before you even ink up the stamp!
I stamped the gate directly on the tag with Black Tuxedo Memento ink, and brushed the edges of the tag with Black Soot Distress Ink.
The rosette is made from the Queen & Co washi, included in the kit. To begin, I cut a small circle out of cardstock, and started pleating the washi, attaching around the outside of the circle until it was covered. Then I started a second inner row.....
here's a pic to give you the idea:
I put a bit of The Rubber Cafe' Scrap Happy Glue in the center after, to make sure it held. You could also add the Scrap Happy Glue to the circle before hand, and let it dry until it's tacky. Scrap Happy Glue makes a perfect jumbo glue dot!
Finishing up this tag, I made more little banners using the orange cardstock and striped patterned paper, glued those to the bottom of the tag, then glued the rosette on top. I embossed the ghost from the main kit in white on black cardstock, fussy cut, and foam taped him to the rosette.
The "BOO!" sentiment is embossed in black, I trimmed it to make a banner, and glued on 1/2 a circle of black, decorated with a purple goosebump and glitter orange tulle.
The top of the tag is a small scrap of the web paper and orange cardstock stapled to the top. I used two black Queen & Co pearls accent the corners.
And last but not least, Tag #4:
This one I used a rectangle of green cardstock (1&3/4" by 2&7/8"), and embossed "BOO!" in black at the bottom. I added a square of the striped pattern paper, and glued on the ghost (he was embossed in white on purple and fussy cut). "31st" is embossed in black, cut out with a circle punch, and attached with foam tape.
The 2 stars are stamped in Dusty Concord Distress Ink, and fussy cut from the row of stars stamp. They are attached with foam tape, and a purple Queen & Co goosebump to add a touch of bling!.
A piece of orange tulle and seam binding top the tag....if you notice the crumpled look of the seam binding, I cut the piece I want to use, and roll it into a tight ball in my hands until I like the look of it. You can wet it for a more distressed look, but make sure you dry it completely before you add it to your project.
Thanks for stoppin' by the Cafe' today!!! Hope you enjoyed my tags, and you are inspired to make something beautiful with your kit!
