This ghostly little card was a great way to use up scraps from other projects:
The base is a standard A2 card, with the stripe and web paper layered in first.
Then I added a Spellbinders Labels 18 die cut in black cardstock. A purple
rectangle acted as a base for my focal point of the card.
Using scraps left from my other cards, I cut varying widths (1/2", 3/4" and 1")
strips of cardstock and paper and glued them to the edge of my purple base
using The Rubber Cafe' Scrap Happy Glue. I used a 1"x2" strip of black
along the right edge and purple Queen & Co bling to frame out my little
The plain white cardstock was stamped with the ghost using Versamark Ink,
and then embossed in white. This gave me a "resist" to then apply Distress
Ink over to give me a smoky spooky background. I also dripped water on
my background, then blotted it dry, and then applied more ink right over it.
That is how the background spots "pop".
Here is a closer look to see the background look with the water spots and
how they really pop out when you go back over them with ink:
The moon is a punched circle with distress ink and I stamped the small bat
in Tuxedo Black Memento and the larger bat is stamped and fussy cut, then
I used foam tape to pop it up for dimension.
The sentiment was stamped on yellow cardstock then cut out (I do this to
make it easier to keep the sentiment straight and centered!). A little Distress
Ink and Queen & Co bling finish it off.
