Introducing Creative Cafe's Kit of the Month - "Best Witches" -using Chalkboard Technique

Hey there!  If you've been hitting our blog, visiting us on Facebook or just shopping our online store at The Rubber Cafe'  you've heard us talking about our new Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month club!  Well release time is here and the Design team has been busy creating, and starting today we're finally able to share some of those featured cards and tags!

To kick it all off - I'm going to share with you a project I made using the new Chalkboard technique  it's fun and easy gives some amazing results especially when working on black cardstock.

To get started with this technique -you will need a white pigment inkpad.  I used Memories Pigment ink in Unicorn(white).  This has really great coverage and stays wet long enough for you to get your 'chalk-smudge' look.
For today, I've used a simple sponge- but I have even used my finger to get the smudge look I'm looking for - just practice and see what works best for you!

Once my image was stamped I took my sponge -and smudged the image a bit as well as with a little ink on my sponge I smudged the area around it my image.

Once this was done -I was ready to dicut out my sentiment and finish layering my card.  Another thing you can do with this technique to give you the look of variance to your white stamped images, is to use white embossing powder on some images and just pigment ink on others.

For my finishing touches -I created my own jeweled stickpin using the adhesive gems included in the kit - and a flat wooden tooth pick.  I inked the wooden pick with yellow mustard seed Distress Ink, and than with Scrap Happy Glue to ensure the gems would stay added the adhesive-back gems, orange, and black. Tucking this into my black rayon ribbon also included in the kit gave me just the finish that I needed.

Here's another look at my completed card!  Having all the coordinated  papers, embellishments and stamps at your finger tips  makes putting together cards and tags for your Halloween treats super easy!

Hope you enjoyed today's card and will give this technique a try!
Be sure to check back all week and throughout the month as we'll have more fun and inspiration to share with these fabulous new Creative Cafe' kits!
