Thinking of You Easel Card Tutorial

Hello! Dawn Rene here with you today to share an easel card I made featuring the Winter Bird stamp from The Rubber Cafe'.   After I started coloring the bird, I decided I wanted to use patterned papers which have more autumn colors so I changed it to be a "fall bird."

I stamped the Winter Bird with Black Memento Ink, colored it with Copic markers (YR21, YR24, and E19), and fussy cut it out.

1 Colored Bird
I used a paper crimper to create the background for the bird.
3 Crinkled Background
I cut an oval into a piece of patterned paper to use as a window for the bird. I randomly stamped leaves from the Leafy Fun Labrador set on this top layer.

  4 Stamped Top Layer
I adhered the top layer over the bottom layer and then embellished the front with mesh and ribbon.

Next I created the base of the easel card. This was done by cutting a 6" x 12" strip from cardstock and scoring it at 6" inches and 9" inches. Folding the score lines using all "moutain folds" my easel begins to take shape! See how that looks in the photo below.

5 Easel Fold
I randomly stamped leaves from the Leafy Fun Labrador set again on the base of the card. Then I stamped the "Thinking of You" sentiment from the Fabulous Phrases set onto a paper covered chipboard label. The label was distressed and embellished with brads.
   6 Stamped Sentiment
The 6" x 6" front of the card was adhered to the 3" x 6" folded base to create the finished easel card!
