Creative Cafe' Kit: Autumn Harvest Shaker Card

Hi everyone!  Laura here, sharing a tutorial on how to use packaging to
make this harvest shaker card using the Creative Cafe' Fall Harvest kit
from The Rubber Cafe':

The base:
Made from orange cardstock in the 4x1/4" by 5&1/2" size.  I added a piece
of the BoBunny fall paper in 4x5&1/4" size.  The center band is a 2&1/2" by
4" piece of stripe paper, layered with a 2" by 4" piece of orange cardstock,
then an 1&1/2 piece of burlap (I started with it a bit wider so I could fray
the edges).  A 1" strip of brown cardstock punched out is added to the
bottom edge, and dressed up with pearls (colored with Copic Markers).

For the upper corners:
I cut a 1" square in half diagonally, then stamped and embossed the swirl,
adhered to the card, and then added a colored pearl.

For the shaker:
The bag was created first....using one of the packaging bags from the kit.
The button or sequin bag will work....I trimmed off the top (leaving the
seam to keep it closed on one end) and then trimmed off the bottom so
it would slip easily inside the kraft mini bag (this was about 2&1/2"):

Once it was filled with sequins, I used Scrap Happy Glue to seal it:

While that dried, I started making the frame that would hold it,
starting with the little kraft bag and tracing around a template cut
from a scrap piece of cardstock:

A piece of recycled cardboard cut to fit inside the bag allowed me to cut
this out with a craft knife, and still leave the back of the bag in tact:

On this frame, I stamped and embossed the words "autumn" and "harvest"
above and below the frame.  Then I inserted the shaker bag and adhered
it with a bit of Scrap Happy Glue at the bottom and top. The brown ribbon
was tied around the bag in a bow, with the button and twine.  Then the
shaker was adhered to the center of the card.

Lastly, I adhered the pumpkins I stamped, colored and fussy cut, into the
top of the bag (they fit perfectly in there!).

I'm always looking for ways to "upcycle" items....this is an easy way to
make a shaker card...made even better by re-using packaging!

Thanks for dropping by the cafe' today!  Come back soon for more fall
