Tag Card with Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month

Hello! Dawn Rene here with you today to share a tag card I made with the Creative Cafe Kit of the Month-Harvest Time. This kit from The Rubber Cafe' is incredible!   I love the papers, ribbons, embellishments and of course their fabulous stamps! There is enough product in the kit to make numerous cards, layouts or home decor projects.

This fall project has a tag which slips into a card. I give these cards as gifts and the person can use the tag as a book marker.
TRC Tag Card First
The first step was to make the shell of the card. I did this by taking a 8.5" x 11" piece of cardstock and scoring it at 2.75" and 8.25".

1 - TRC Tag Card
I folded both sides inward to complete the card base. I cut off the top corners so the tag can show through.

Next I cut squares and rectangles from various pieces of patterned paper. I distressed all the pieces by tearing the edges and inking them with brown ink

I stamped the decorative swirl element from the Harvsst Time stamp set in the kit on two of the pieces.

For the ribbon tie, I used a piece of ribbon about 2 feet long. I glued the ribbon around the back of the card and around the front folds, then tied it in a bow to hold the two card flaps together. I used Scrap Happy glue to adhere sequin on the ribbon to add some glitz!
5 - TRC Tag Card
I cut out a piece of 5.25" x 8.25" cardstock and glued it down inside. It is not shown in the picture but I cut out a piece of patterned paper that was about 5.25" x 2.5" and glued it to the top of the inside of the card. This will show through when the card is closed and give a much better finish to the inside of my card.

The tag base is 3" x 8" with the top corners snipped off. The background was created with multiple ink sprays and distressed paints.... I had fun playing with them!

After the ink and paint dried - I used stamps from the kit, and stencils to add some additional texture.

 9 - TRC Tag Card

To create the shaker pocket for the front of the tag, I used my kraft bag, button, sequins, papers and stamp- all included in the kit. I cut out a window from the kraft bag and attached cardstock to the back. Using the "Fall Traditions",  Add-on set  I stamped the tree stamp on a transparency with black archival ink.

To finish, I cut out a piece of  transparency to fit the window and attached it to the front of the tag.... in went the gold shimmery sequins!

I added a few more embellishments to complete the tag. I stamped "thankful" from the Harvest Time  stamp set in the kit, on the wooden label and layered it onto of a piece of burlap. I also created a bow with the ribbon and layered that on burlap. More ribbon and twine at the top to finish it off.
