Creative Cafe' Kit Twas the Night... Puff Gift Box Tutorial and Template

Hi Everyone !  We're well into our first week of this month's kit release called 'Twas the Night.  It's a fun Christmas kit and this month you have 2 add-on stamps sets to use with your kit, plus a full 6x6 pad of Echo Park's 'Tis the Season, it just doesn't get any better than this.

I'm sharing a fun and easy gift box -today.  And I'll share how I created my template, but have also made it available for you to download

For my pic above I used white paper  for this one.  Starting with a CD for my template I traced around the circle.  I traced a second circle directly below the first one only I made sure they overlapped so the deepest part of the circle was about an inch.

Still using my CD I created the 'inverted curved'' sides all around.  The joined portion of the 2 circles is going to be the hinged side of your box.

Now that I have my drawn template I took my pen or stylist to go around the template and score the main parts to score are all your  convex curves, the better you score these the better they will fold in when creating your box.

Ready now to start stamping my images; for my sample above I used the snowflakes included in the add-on stampset and inked them with Red, black, silver, and 2 shades of green and stamped randomly all over my box.  For my dots I used small finger daubers dipped in silver Brillance ink.  These were too fun on the white background.

For my sample in the pics - I used the reindeer, sleigh, and the words 'Holly' and 'Jolly' and stamped in a white pigment ink on my red cardstock.   I filled in the spaces with my finger daubers again this time using Silver and gold.   For the smaller circles I used a pencil eraser - after inking with the Silver and Gold and stamped randomly to fill in open areas.  This one I also spritzed with my Spray mist by Tsuienko ink.  This one is called 'Frost'.

Once you've finished stamping - cut out your puff box, be sure to keep them joined in the middle you'll use the score on the middle to fold in half to become one side.

I pushed in my 2 other sides and closed with Adhesive.  I leave the last side free of adhesive so I can put in my treats or gift, that the Lucky Recipient can easily open.  I also used a 1/2 " circle punch to allow for easier access on the open end.  To finish tie a ribbon around it to keeps it closed and gives you a place to attach your tag or label.

Here's some more photos of my white box, as it was finished.  Here for my tag, I stamped in silver ink "Sparkle and Shine" by masking and the phrase from kit, "Let your New Year Sparkle and Shine" A punched snowflake and a gem from the kit give it the final touch!

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you'll give these a try. Once you have your template you can always use it to print or trace over and over to make as many gift boxes as you need!
