Happy Wednesday! Dawn Rene here to share a canvas I made for The Rubber Cafe with their Winter Bird stamp and other fun supplies from the store.
Here is a picture of the finished canvas....
First I painted the canvas with gesso and covered it with patches of patterned paper applied with decoupage.
Then I used light modeling paste with a couple stencils to add some texture to the background. I applied a very light coating of silver glitter while the modeling paste was still wet.
I covered a couple chipboard snowflakes with gesso and then applied thick embossing enamel - heating the pieces from underneath.
I stamped the Winter Bird image on white card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored in the stamp with Copic markers - but didn't do a very detailed job since I knew it would be covered with other embellishments. I fussy cut out the stamp and adhered it to the canvas with decoupage.
I put silver glitter on Thickers, adhered them to patterned paper and brushed over them with gesso. The last step - my favorite - creating some snow! I sprayed GooseBumps texture spray on the canvas and put a light dusting of pearlized mica fragments and shaved ice around the bird.
Here is the final product!
