Meet New Design Team Member ~ Kendra Wietstock

Hi There ~ My name is Kendra Wietstock and I'm super excited to be name one of the new design team members for The Rubber Cafe.

A bit about me... I work as a full time designer from my home in Northern Indiana.  I have also been teaching classes for the past 7 years, both in my home and at local scrapbook stores.  I love working on all types of crafting projects, but spend most of my time creating layouts and cards.   I married my high-school sweetheart and we have two fabulous teenagers ~ Megan 16 years & Matt 13 years.  Outside of crafting, our family loves to travel  and you'll be seeing layouts of our trips from time to time.  I also enjoy reading, volunteering at our church as our library director, and spending time with the great band kids at our high school as a marching band mom.  You can see my work over on my blog called Kendra's Card Company,  on my crafty Facebook page ~ Kendra's Paper Creations or follow me on Pinterest.

My style is generally clean and simple, but I really enjoy a variety of styles... here a few samples of things I've done that I really love.

I'm so anxious to get started and can't wait for my first goodie box to arrive from The Rubber Cafe!  I'll be back soon to share some fun projects!

Red Poppy

Hello!
Craving bright colors, I chose to use today this gorgeous Inked Poppy stamp, and I just Love it when you get to ink something up for the first time!

Wanting more color and wanting to make my red poppy... well Pop!
I colored it red, and while I  usually don't do a lot of coloring had fun with this one.

I kept the card pretty simple....papers, a bit of crochet lace, ribbons, and the image.   For some added fun, I embellished my envelope, useing the Give Momma some love for my sentiments.

Thanks for letting me share!  cherry

You Make Me Smile!

Hello Friends!  Hope you are having a great day!  Today I would like to share with you a quick and easy card that would be great to send to that special friend just to brighten their day.

The cute little flower image is Daisy Bouquet.  I stamped the image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it in using markers.  After coloring the image, I cut/embossed using Labels One #3 (remember #1 is the smallest in the set) and layered it onto a Scalloped Labels One cut/embossed from red cardstock.  The sentiment is from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set.  I did the same procedure for this sentiment - stamped first and then positioned the Labels Four #3 die into place and cut/embossed.  I then cut off the embossed edge so that I could layer it onto the same size Labels Four #3 cut/embossed from red cardstock.  Here are a few close-ups.

Hope you have enjoyed my quick and easy card!  Have a great day!

Love

Hi! Happy Monday!
I have a layout to share today. I started an 8 x 8 album last year as a complement to my full size album. In this smaller one (which is perfect for Instagram photos) I put all those random pics from everyday life that before tended not to be scrapped.
Love layout 1 2
I had a blast making this one. I went crazy with the stamping. I love how beautifully both pigment and dye inks come out on the Pugnacious Signature Paper. Really vibrant colors. For the striped background I used the one and only fab Don’t be Wishy Washi.
Love layout 4
The Washi tape stamps were masked and stamped with different colors to make a fun background. The title as well as the date spot and the flower in the upper right corner are from Remember The Moments.
Love layout 2
The photo is an Instagram and it’s framed with Pictures Framed.
I used a little piece of colorful scrap paper to make the banner and the flowers. For the banner I used a small heart punch and folded the top away to make perfect little flags.
That’s all for me. Have a great new week!!!

Time to Dream

I have a fun sparkly fairy to share with you today, meet the Woman on Moon from The Rubber Cafe.

To create the red sparkly panel I started with a 5" x 3 3/4" panel of double sided Adhesive Sheet.
I adhered it at an angle on the red card base.

Next, I covered the entire panel with Patriot Red You're So Fine Glitter.
I shook the excess glitter back into the jar and then rubbed my finger across the entire panel to burnish it and remove any remaining loose glitter.

It's hard to get a good picture of it but the Patriot Red You're So Fine Glitter leaves a fabulous, shiny, sparkly panel.

To create the shiny moon I stamped the moon part of the image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on to the double sided adhesive sheet (before removing the protective layer).
I cut out the moon portion and adhered it over the moon on my main image panel that I had all ready stamped on Pugnacious Signature white cardstock and colored for the card.

Then I covered the moon portion with Diamond Clear Cool Highlight-You're so Fine Glitter.
I shook the excess glitter back into the jar and then rubbed my finger across the moon to burnish and remove any remaining glitter.

To finish the card I adhered the image panel to the card with Scrap Happy Glue.
I stamped the sentiment, Take Time to Dream on a strip of Pugnacious Signature white cardstock, sponged ink on the edges, and adhered it to the card.

I hope you enjoyed today's post.
Have a great weekend!

Spread Your Wings-Butterfly!

Hello!  Hope you are having a great week!  Here at my house the kids are home from school for a snow day!  First one of the year, if you can believe it.  I have a beautiful card for you today that I think will make you think of better weather and better days to come!

This is a 5 x 7" card.  I used some new Card Creator dies from Spellbinders Paper Arts.  These dies are called 5x7 Matting Basics A and 5x7 Matting Basics B.  Its kinda hard to see it but I stamped the Words of Inspiration Background all over the cream layer using Desert Sand Memento Ink plus I sponged around the edges.  Then I layered some peach cardstock and another layer of cream that I stamped the Small Trailing Butterflies stamp using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.

Here is a close-up.....

As you can see, I stamped the butterflies onto a scrap of peach cardstock using Desert Sand Memento Ink and then fussy cut them out.  Then I stamped the same butterflies onto some Vellum cardstock using Timber Brown Staz-on and fussy cut those out!  The vellum I used is a text-weight so its a little thicker and that is how I got the wings to look like they are flying!

Here you can see my layers closeup!

Another close-up!

See the sentiment strip?  I stamped the Words of Inspiration using the Desert Sand Memento ink and then stamped Spread Your Wings sentiment using Rich Cocoa Memento Ink over the background.  I sponged the edges and added the twine and pearls.

I think this card turned out great plus I had alot of fun making it!  Now I just have to find someone to send it too!!  LOL  Hope you have a great day!
