Butterfly Garden

Hello everyone!
First of all,  let me wish you Happy Easter! Most of Ukrainians will have Easter holidays in May, but I have lots of friends all over the world and that's why I can celebrate both Orthodox and Catholic holidays.
Today is my first blog post and I'm excited to share this card with you. I hope it will get warm soon and there will be flowers and butterflies in the garden. I create this card to hasten these days.

For this card I used Large Highwing Butterfly stamp and a cute frame from Remember The Moments set. Both were stamped to patterned paper and cut out. I also painted this butterfly with Copic markers.

I used different layers and usually I don't apply glue close to the edge. All that helps me to create more volume.

In general, it's a very simple card which can be used on different occasions. As for the stamps, Large Highwing Butterfly and Remember The Moments set could be used both in cards and in layouts. I know you can create amazing projects with them!

Wishing you a wonderful holidays with your families and friends!
See again soon!

Birthday Brights

Today I have 2 cards Birthday cards to share featuring The Rubber Cafe's -Hey Cupcake! stampset and BoBunny's new Surprise! 6x6 pad.

When I break out my rubber stamps, I love to make card sets.  It's a great way to have cards on hand for any occasion.  Using a stamp set like the Hey Cupcake! set it's fun to mix and match but I've kept it simple by using the same paper set.

I stamped the frosting swirl and cupcake wrapper from the Hey Cupcake! set, on two different patterned papers, then cut them out and used foam tape to give them dimension.

The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, and popped up with foam tape.  For a finishing touch, I fussy cut balloons from the paper, added some buttons and bakers twine and finally Holly Berry Red Jellie Dots, from The Rubber Cafe'.  I distressed everything with Black Soot Ink, and assembled my card.

This next card I also used the Hey Cupcake! set, but paper pieced my cupcake using the other frosting stamp, the adorable "sweet birthday" sentiment and, of course, who can resist a little cherry on top?

This one has the fun Golden Jellie Dots....I think Jellie Dots are one of my new favorite things! They are a fun accent and are easy to use with the Stick 'Em Up and Scrap Happy Glue.

Hope you enjoyed the creations in the Cafe' today!

Embossed Background Tutorial

Hi  Rubber Cafe' Fans!  ~ Kendra here today with an Embossed Background Tutorial.  First off, I'll show you the finished project so you can picture it before I begin ~ fun & bright, huh?  The sets I used for my card were Background Basics 1 and Floral Background.

Here's a close up so you can see the embossing behind the floral background.  I also attached some Pearl Jellie Dots to the center of each flower with my Scrap Happy Glue and then I colored them with my Blue/Yellow Copic Markers (B28, Y35) so they would POP.

Step 1: To get started, grab some white pigment ink & your background stamp.  Stamp the image on white cardstock & repeat as needed to cover the entire card panel.

Step 2: Working quickly, I inked the Floral Background with various shades of green, blue and yellow Memento Ink.  I did the lighter colors first and then added some darker shades in the flower centers (blues) and on the edges of the leaves (greens).  Press the inked floral image firmly over the top of the stamped background on the white card panel.

Step 3: Cover the card panel with clear embossing powder & shake off the excess.

TIP ~ Since I use lots of clear embossing powder, I keep mine in a large flat container that is big enough to dip my entire card in...it's so easy to shake off the excess powder and then put the lid back on rather than try and get it back into a little jar.

Step 4: Heat emboss the image with a heat gun.  The check pattern will begin to appear when finished.

finished embossed piece ~
and you're ready to add some embellishments and finish your card.

Thanks for visiting today!

Egg-stra-special Easter Tree!

Hi Everyone!  Wow the Easter season really came up fast this year!  I have one more project I thought I'd share, using our Easter Eggs set and our special On the Fence Die!

I lost some clarity it looks like when I sized these down for the blog, so I apologize for that but I think this could be a sweet centerpiece for any table!

The tree itself I purchased from Michaels - and set it in a base I created out of a basket I made using the On the Fence Die and a Spellbinder Scallop circle base.  After cutting the fence die I stamped it with White pigment Ink - using our Woodgrain background stamp-  A square lace doily is nestled inside and I tied a fun brown gingam taffeta ribbon around the base.  I also fluffed up some white shredded filler for the inside.

Around the bottom I cut a stripe of green that I fringed for grass, and nestled some small eggs for 'eggs-tra' fun!

The planter Stick could be put in a real Easter Lily plant or any green plant too!  It is made using a long wooden scour that I attached a Heart shape doily I first distressed with Tea Dye Distress ink.  A colored  Easter Egg and 'Happy Easter' banner complete the front.  This set includes 2 sentiments "Happy Easter" and "Easter Wishes" so you have everything you need for your Easter needs in one set!

Here's another look

This is a bit blurry but you can get a better idea on the entire presentation!

I hope you all enjoy your time with Family and Friends during this Spring season!
Thanks for stopping by!

Mom's Garden....

Hello to you!

I have a soft sweet little Mother's day card to share today, using one of our new stamp sets the Tree Silhouette.

If you know me at all...you know I love wreaths. I love the country appeal, and the warmth they add.

I decided to turn the tree into a free form wreath, by simply rotating my tree image every time I stamped it creating a free form circle.

I than took the little mini leaf and stamped it here and there for dimension. I of course had to embellish my country wreath with some Jellie dots. they are always the perfect little accent!

My sentiment comes from the Friends sentiment set, which I thought would fit this card well.

I used the mini leaf again stamping it around the sentiment to accent it.

I added some grungy distressed seam binding and was done! I love the pink and green together, very feminine I think.

I so hope you enjoy~  Happy Wednesday!  Hugs, cherry
