Hello there Cafe friends! It's Mary-Ann here to share with you a layered card using March's Kit of the Month -Fashionable Accessories. I pondered over what I was going to make for this card, what stamp I wanted to highlight. I just loved the phone and wanted it to be the star. Here is what I created.
I started with the standard 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card base, and added a slightly smaller patterned paper to the card. I whipped the edges through my sewing machine and started layered papers and stickers until I was content. The circles are cut with nesting Fiskars circle punches.
I did add some foam tape behind the phone and other items for dimension. You can see here that I added a group of thread wrapped around the card and tied in a bow. Since there is sewing on this card, I used the same color for the bow.
You can see here that I just twisted my brown ribbon tight to create more of a rope effect and stapled it in place.
I added glue dots to my "Call Me" banner, buckled it a little and attached as you see here. If this were going to be mailed, it could just lay flat.
I stamped the phone with brown ink and VersaMark, heat embossing with clear embossing powder. A little doodling around the edge of the card and around the phone circle with a brown pen adds a bit more detail. Since I did machine stitching, I pretended to do the same with squiggly marks with my brown pen. With a paintbrush, I added brown drops of Dylusions Ink Spray. I maintain control for the larger drops and then flick it on my finger for the smaller ones.
Here's a final look at my finished card!
Hope you are inspired. See you soon.
