Creative Cafe' Kit for March -Friends make the best Accessories!

March is here- and today I'm sharing my first project using all the stamps and goodies, found in our latest kit from the Creative Cafe' - Friends make the best Accessories!  I know I say this everytime, but I think I've found a new favorite!  The papers in this kit are gorgeous double sided prints from Bazzill Basics-and as always, we've got embellishments and a stamp set to inspire you all month!

Today - I have a card that is special enough for any occasion that you may want to share with a friend or family member.

No really special techniques today, just a lot of layers, diecutting and stamping on patterned paper.
  • Card base is an A2 size, cut and scored to - 4 1/4 x 5 1/2"
  • Brown cardstock pc cut at 4 1/8 x 5 1/4"
  • Patterned paper pc cut at 4 x 5 1/8"
  • I picked 3 patterned papers cut at 3 1/2" long - and punched with scallop border punch
  • A 4th piece cut and scalloped punched at 3x 1 "
This month's kit really cried out for me to break out my newest Tim Holtz Bigz die, the Vintage hand mirror- I cut the mirror 2 times, once with the seafoam green cardstock and again with the white swirl textured piece that I used for the mirror.  I distressed the edges using silver ink working my way into the center leaving just enough white.
I've stamped the dressform stamp directly to patterned paper, and fussy cut out my image. I popped it up with dimensional adhesives when layering all the parts of my card.
I stamped the phrase 'You're beautiful" and layered that over my scalloped borders, and behind the mirror base.

Assembling my card - I ahered all my layers, and punched borders layered around the mirror handle.  I tied a double bow out of twine and ahered a resin rose all from the kit- just at the top of the handle.  A few speckle dots in carmel were scattered around for added interest.
TIP:  Using these or sequins, or gems always think in odd numbers as you place them in a splattered form.  The less thought the more random the better!

And that's it! - thanks for stopping by, plan to check back more this month as the rest of the Design Team shares they're inspirations with you!
