Friends Are Always In Style: Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month

Hi everyone!  Laura with you today and excited to share a card using our latest Creative Cafe'- Kit of the Month, "Friends Make The Best Accessories" from The Rubber Cafe'.  It's full of so many goodies and it inspired me to make this "shabby chic" card.

A2 Card Base:
Kraft cardstock- cut and scored to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2"

First Layer: 4" x 3 1/2" floral pattern for the bottom and 2" green dot for the top that is distressed around the edges and then inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink--a small piece of the floral pattern is glued behind the little tear I made at the top.

Second Layer: 1" x 4" strip of script pattern paper and I attached the antiqued pink ribbon to this piece before gluing it down using Scrap Happy Glue as you see in this post.

To give the ribbon and the roses the antique look I wanted, they were treated with Distress Ink.
For the ribbon, I just wrinkled up, then lightly dragged the ribbon across Vintage Photo Distress Ink:

Then I sprinkled it with a little water, and carefully dried it a bit with a heat tool.

For the roses, I brushed some of the Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the edges:

And just like the ribbon....sprinkled with water and dried with a heat tool.

To make the framed image, I stamped the hat and "you're beautiful" sentiment on cream cardstock, centered it and cut it out using Spellbinders Labels twenty-two.  While still in the die, it's inked up to leave a border.  After I removed it from the die, to get the shabby chic look, I dripped water onto this piece then dried using a heat tool to give it an older water stained look.

The hat is dressed up a bit using paper piecing....I chose a pink pattern and green pattern to stamp and fussy cut the band, leaves, and flower.  I added a tiny dot of Scrap Happy Glue to the center of the flower and a bit of green You're So Fine Glitter.

For the frame around the image, I used some of the Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Two dies to create the scroll work frame out of kraft cardstock.
After I glued the image panel to the frame, I foam taped the entire piece to the card, then added the flowers and frosted bling.

Thanks for stoppin' by the cafe' today....hope you enjoyed my shabby chic inspiration!

This turned out very pretty Laura! I love how you combined your 2 label dies to create one larger label.
