Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hope you all had a great weekend, I spent mine at a get-away weekend in the mountains! It was perfect weather- and great time with good friends, some paper crafting, food, a little walking (hiking for some) and lots and lots of laughter! This month's kit has a great phrase about Friendship- so seemed appropriate after the wonderful weekend I just had.
Here's my card- it is also special, as it looks like a Shamrock and can be stood up for even more fun.
This project was introduced recently on Splitcoast and I just knew I had to make one of my own!
This card also features a white-wash technique using white ink on Kraft cardstock, made this card extra special I think!
After cutting out 4 hearts in Kraft cardstock with my Spellbinders' Classic heart set, I got out my Memento-Luxe ink in Wedding dress white. I love this ink- it's a bit of a cross between pigment and chalk inks and seems to have a quicker drying time than most craft pigment inks.
I also cut from paper included in the kit 4 hearts using the next size up I chose the greem polka-dots since I wanted this to be a shamrock look.
Here's a closer look...
Once the image has been stamped I took my ink pad and pushed it onto my kraft mat, and spritzed it with water. Taking my water color brush, I filled in the open areas, achieving the white-wash look.
To finish I punched holes on each side so I could lace my ribbon through.
going in a criss -cross pattern, I finished by tieing my ribbon in a bow setting it in the center.
Taking the two center hearts - and angleing them at 45 degrees from each other - your card will stand up, like in my picture below.

So easy and fun to make and send. I hope you'll give these a try!

The white wash affect on the roses is beautiful! I can see using that on other projects for sure! Very pretty. Kraft is so much fun - and can be elegant too!
