Watercolor flower with Creative Cafe Kit of the Month

Hi TRC friends, I am excited to be with you for second time this month.  I have found this Creative cafe Kit this month to be exceptionally diverse.  Today I am going to share with you how I created this watercolored flower with an umbrella stamp!

I started by prepping my Gelatos.  Of course, I swirled them around a bit more than you see here to break up the particles.

Being careful, I stamped just the top of the umbrella without the handle onto the white embossed cardstock that came with the March kit.  You could also use a paper barrier over the handle of the umbrella if you have any trouble.  This way, you don't have to worry about inking too much of your stamp.  Once that ink dried, I started coloring with my darkest color on the outside then worked my way in with the softer colors.

I then added a stem with the green gelatos.  I did go back and take a black watercolor pencil and emphasis the outer left of the stem.  With scissors, I cut leaves from my green paper and machine sewed them into place on my flower.  This card base is a standard 4 1/4 by 5 1/2.  I added the ribbon and a bit of sewing around the edge of the white cardstock and I was done.  This card can be used in so many ways.  What a lovely Sympathy card, thinking of you or birthday card this would make.  Just  dig out your stash of stamps from The Rubber Cafe and find your perfect sentiment.
