May Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month -Cupcake Gate Fold

Hi Everyone!  I'm here today to share my first project with you featuring our May Kit- How Sweet it is!

It's a sweet card made with a simple gate fold.  Featuring the stamp set included in your kit- Make Life Sweet.  I used the cupcakes from the set to overlap at the card opening.

To begin, I cut my card base from Kraft cardstock at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" -
I scored in at 2 1/8" from each end.  Folding in each side so the ends meet in the middle I used my bone folder to get a nice sharp fold.

Now I'm ready to decorate my card.  I cut pieces to fit on each flap of the outside, and using patterned paper I placed that just on the inside and finished by adding a stamped and fussy cut cupcake.  I also stamped the phrase let them eat cupcakes' -  to finish the inside.

I stamped colored and fussy cut out 3 more cupcakes, 2 were the same, to allow for a more balanced look

I applied them to the front openings with the first and third cupcakes adhered on the lower half of the card and only from the bottom half of the cupcake so card can still open.  The middle cupcake is adhered to the top half of the card - again just adhering the top portion of the cupcake.  See my photo above.

To finish I stamped and punched out the phrase Happy Birthay!  and adhered it over the ribbon I had tied in a simple square not around the lower flap of the card.   I also added some word stickers and pearl gems to each cupcake both embellishments included in your kit.
These cupcakes and other images from the stamp set are so much fun to color and embellish!  I used my Wink of Stella glitter pens a lot on all my 'sweet' confections, it just seemed to make them look all the more sugary!

Love how the cupcakes need to fold into each other to close. Cute idea.
