Golfin' Birthday with The Rubber Cafe' June KOTM

Hey all!  Laura here today with a birthday card for dad using The Rubber Cafe' June Creative Cafe' KOTM:

My guys tend to like a card that's not too fussy....I'm an this card has the best of both!

It starts with a 5&1/2" by 4&1/4" kraft cardstock base, layered with a 5&1/4" by 4" piece of maroon
dot patterned paper.

The strips across the card are 3&1/2" by 1" kraft cardstock, with a 3&1/2" by 3/4" piece of striped patterned paper glued with Scrap Happy Glue onto the kraft base.  These were then glued onto the bottom part of the card.

To make the rounded ends.....I punched a 1&1/4" circle out of kraft cardstock, cut it in half, added one of the brads from the Creative Cafe' KOTM to the center of each half circle, then glued these to the end of the strips.  The top half circle was made in a similar way, I used a 1&1/2" punch on the kraft cardstock, and the 1&1/4" punch on the striped paper, and centered the brad so it was ready to add later.

For the stamped image, I used a 3&1/2" by 2&1/2" piece of kraft cardstock.  I stamped the golf clubs along the left side in Pumice Stone Distress Ink for a dark tone on tone look.  The happy birthday sentiment was stamped in Black Tuxedo Memento Ink along the top edge.

I glued the to a 3&3/4" by 2&3/4" rectangle of aqua patterned paper as a mat.  And then using a scrap of the aqua, I stamped "DAD", trimmed it down into a small banner, and used foam tape to attach it under the happy birthday.  I attached this piece to the card using foam tape, then added the circle I'd already made to the top edge.

For the action wobble part of the card, I used a 1&1/2" circle punch to make a circle of the aqua pattern paper and distressed it with Black Soot Distress Ink.  The golf club was stamped in Memento Black Tuxedo Ink, colored in with Copic Markers, and I added glossy accents to the golf ball.  Once dry, I punched the image out using a 1&1/4" circle punch, distressed the edges with a bit of Black Soot Distress Ink, then glued it to the 1&1/2" aqua circle. This circle piece was attached to an Action Wobble which was attached to the card next to the golf bag.

A great simple card for any golfin' guy!

Thanks for stoppin' by the cafe' today.....guy cards can be fun....especially with the June Creative Cafe' KOTM.  So get out there and go "four" it....haha!  And stop by soon for more inspiration!
