The two starfish are stamped in Memento Black Tuxedo, colored with Copic Markers, and fussy cut. One starfish is foam taped to the yellow strip of cardstock and 2 gems were added.
To create the porthole:
Tape 2 Spellbinders dies to base cutting plate of die cutting machine. This is a handy use for a wee bit of your washi in the kit, and will allow you to get perfect spacing for creating the porthole:
This is the result:
Remove the center (you don't need this--you can save to use on another project), then using just the larger die, layer a piece of acetate (I used the package from the gems in the kit) and a piece of the fish pattern paper and cut out. Use Scrap Happy Glue to glue the die cut acetate directly to the back of the porthole piece.
To build the scene in the porthole, stamp the coral and the submarine and color with Copic Markers. Fussy cut out, then glue the coral directly to the back of the porthole:
Glue the submarine to the center of the fish pattern paper (I made sure it lined up with the coral the way I wanted as I did this). Then use foam tape around the back side of the porthole, and attach it to the fish piece. Glue the bottom half of the porthole piece to your red card base.
Stamp the sentiment, mat and trim to a banner shape, then place along the bottom edge of the porthole. Foam tape the second starfish, and add gems to look like rivets on the porthole:
