Silly Submarine Sayings

Say THAT three times! Good morning, it is Gloria Stengel with you again today!  I had so much fun as the June Guest Designer here at The Rubber Cafe, that I came back for one more month! When I saw the July Creative Cafe Kit, A Whole Water Fun, I knew I had to play along! I love the stamps and the papers, but...with a "punny" title like that, how could I NOT join in?!

I created this cute card with the submarine stamp from the Under the Sea stamp set. I had to add the sentiment from Fun in the Sun add-on set. Get are in a tiny sub and you "wish they were here"?! {giggle}

To make this card, start with a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inch yellow card, using the Bazzill Daisy cardstock from the July kit.

Stamp the submarine image with black ink and color it with alcohol markers. Add Glossy Accents to the submarine porthole and allow it to dry completely.

Use a background die template to make a "bubble" pattern from the yellow polka dot Echo Park Walking on Sunshine 6x6 paper. Rub the edges with white paint and allow the paint to dry. Trim the paper to 5 1/4 x 4 inches.

Trim the blue fish scale paper (from the 6x6 pad) to 5 3/8 x 4 1/8 inches. Attach the yellow die cut piece to the top. Wrap both panels with the yellow ribbon from the kit. Attach the panels to the card front.

Stamp the bubbles image from the Under the Sea stamp set with blue ink. Use a circle die template to trim out the image. Use a decorative die template to trim another circle from the pale blue paper found in the 6x6 pad. I used one that had a water drop shape around the edges, and I glued a few of the "water drops" to the main image.

Attach the image to the decorative circle with foam dots. Then trim an other plain circle from the Bazzil Bling Glitz cardstock. Attach the image to the largest circle with foam dots.

Attach the circle stack to the lower, right corner of the card. Tie a bow with the yellow ribbon to the left of the image.

Using black ink, stamp the sentiment from the Fun in the Sun stamp set, and trim it out into a banner shape. Rub the edges with blue ink. Attach the sentiment to the top, center of the card with foam tape.

Add a white panel to the inside of the card. Attach a thin strip of the fish scale paper to the bottom. Stamp the Under the Sea sentiment with black ink.

Thanks for joining me today!
