The bold blossoms in this Gold n' Glitz kit from The Rubber Cafe' are so pretty, and make great everyday cards. Today I'm sharing a thank you card in soft monochromatic aqua:
The base is 5&1/2" by 4&1/4" white cardstock, layered with a 5&1/4" by 4" piece of aqua stripe patterned paper from the MME paper in the August KOTM.
The roses are stamped on a 3" by 3" square of white cardstock using Versamark ink, then embossed.
Just a hint: To get a look that's nicely random....start by stamping a whole flower just slightly off center, then stamp several around it stamping off the sides.
The color is Distress Ink applied with a sponge applicator, using a heavier amount of ink in the flower centers. I dripped water on the ink then blotted it dry to give the softer effect for the background:
To complete this piece, I added Queen and Co sunflower stones to the centers. I added a 1" strip to the left side (only about 1/4" sticks out) and glued this with Scrap Happy Glue to a 4&1/4" by 3&1/4" piece of aqua pearl cardstock. After adding a seam binding bow to the left side, I glued the entire piece to the card.
The Thank You sentiment is stamped in Black Tuxedo Memento, and foam taped to the card. A few more of the sunflower stones are the finishing touch.
Thanks for stoppin' by the cafe' today! This card would be great for a birthday, or any occasion really....always great to have cards like this on hand, and you can add the sentiment later when you need it!
