Ouija Boards and Black Cats

September's Creative Cafe KOTM has to be my all time favorite.  I think I say that every time but anything to do with fall or Halloween just makes me happy.  Mary-Ann here to share my next card with you.  I could not resist the "OUIJA" board stamp from "Halloween Predictions"  add-on stamp set. It takes me back to the late night sleepovers back in high school.  I swear, Belinda and Marcy moved the cursor.  I remember the small hairs standing up on the back of my neck.  Regardless of your beliefs in ghosts, bad luck or the afterlife, playing around with a Ouija board and a black cat, all on the same card my me a tad nervous.  But, I just loved them both!  It was worth the chance:o)

I started with a 5x5 base of the black paper.  Cut the orange to be 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 and same with the black and white polka dot.  I wanted to create a TV type screen on my card so with my ruler I measured the Ouija board and marked a rectangle on the orange to where I wanted my cut out.  I cut a rectangle slightly larger than the board itself.  Then I cut the black polka dot a bit larger than the orange.  I backed the black with foam tape and the orange with foam also.  This will create shadows and dimension.  I layered these together as shown in the photo at the very top of the page.  Now color your Ouija board to your liking.  I stamped the cat on scrap white paper and then black heat embossed him.  It is amazing the texture I actually got on him.  I added creepy green eyes which made him come to life (hehe).  I stamp another Ouija board so I could cut out the cursor, back it with foam tape and add to the top of the  board for dimension.    I then stamped my sentiment, cut the strips at an angle, layered them and added them to the front of the card.  I went back and added some of my extra bling provided in the kit to the board for embellishment.

Thank you for stopping by to be inspired by this months kit.
