Santa's Lil' Helpers Gift Card Holder: Creative Cafe' KOTM

Hi there everyone!  Time for a little more festive fun with The Rubber Cafe' Creative Cafe' KOTM for October!

This card starts with an 11" by 4&1/4" piece of black cardstock.  It's scored at the 5&1/2" mark and glued together along the sides to make a pouch, using a thin line of Scrap Happy Glue:

The front is decorated with a 5&1/4" by 4" piece of red cardstock, layered with a 5" by 3&3/4" piece of gift patterned paper, and a center band made from a 3&3/4" by 2& 1/4" piece of green cardstock with the bottom border punched.  I added a 3&3/4" by 1&1/4" strip of red cardstock, layered with a 3&3/4" by 1" strip of peppermint stripe paper, and the Happy Holidays sentiment stamped in Black Tuxedo Memento Ink on a white cardstock strip.  I glued this all together, and tied it up with some jute string with bells before I glued it to the card with Scrap Happy Glue.  I added the peppermint "candies" as an accent to the sentiment:

To make the gift card slider inside start with a 6&1/2" by 3&1/2" piece of green cardstock.  Score at 2" to form pocket....glue along edges with a thin line of Scrap Happy Glue

To the pocket: Add 1&3/4" by 3&1/2" strip of black cardstock layered with 1" by 3&1/2" strip of red cardstock punched with border punch. Add a 3&1/4" by 3" piece of peppermint stripe paper above and slightly inside pocket.

Next, stamp the 3 elves and "Do Not Open" seal on white cardstock in Black Tuxedo Ink, color with Copic Markers.  Trim elves piece to approximately 2&1/8" by 5&5/8".  Brush edges with Black Soot Distress Ink.

Make a 2&3/8" by 6" piece of black cardstock--this will be your slider pull tab piece.  Punch a 1&1/2" red cardstock circle, and a 1&1/4" green cardstock circle.  Stamp "Dec 25" toward the top of the green circle, then glue these together.  Punch out the previously colored in "Do Not Open" seal with the 1&1/2" circle punch.  Glue these circles back to back at the top of the black cardstock slider piece.  Then glue the elves on the Dec 25 side, and the entire slider piece to the pocket piece.
