Warm Elf'n Wishes: Creative Cafe' October KOTM

Who's ready to get a head start on their holiday gifts and cards?  The new Rubber Cafe' Kit of the Month  "Christmas Behind the Scenes" is loaded with goodies to help you with that!

The "Elf'n Around" stamp set that comes in this kit is cute, cute, CUTE!!  It even comes with a packet of cocoa, and it inspired me right away to make this sweet little gift:

The secret.....inside is a packet of cocoa:

To make the pouch:
Start with a 4&1/2" by 7" piece of red cardstock.  Score at 5&1/2" and 6".

Cut a 4&1/2" by 4" piece of green cardstock.  Lay this piece even with the bottom of the red cardstock and mark holes for stitching. I used the Tim Holtz ruler and piercing tool for this, but it's easily done with a regular ruler at 1/4" intervals and a piercing tool:

Then I used a craft needle and the string included in the kit to whip stitch the pouch together:

Next I added a 3&1/2" by 3&3/4" piece of snowflake pattern paper to the front.  Then punched a border along the top edge of the red piece, then attached a 4&1/2" by 2" piece of green cardstock with a 4&1/4" by 1&3/4" piece of striped paper glued to it:

The elf is stamped in Memento Black Tuxedo Ink and color in with Copic Markers, then brushed the edges of the 2" by 2&1/8" trimmed piece with Black Soot Distress Ink.  It's matted on a 2&1/2" by 2&5/8" piece of green cardstock.  I wrapped it with more of the red string, and tied on a couple of the little jingle bells from the kit.

I cut a 3&3/4" by 1&1/2" piece of red cardstock, added a 3&3/4" by 1&1/4" strip of candy stripe paper, glued it to the front, and then foam taped the little elf to the center.

The "Warmest Wishes" sentiment is stamped in Memento Black Tuxedo Ink, cut in a banner shape, brushed with Distress Ink, matted on red, then glued to the top flap.  I stamped and colored the holly, fussy cut it out, and added it to the sentiment banner to finish it off:

Thanks so much for stoppin' by the cafe' today.....stop by soon for more inspiration with this fun new kit!
