Good morning Rubber Café friends, Mary-Ann here to share my first card for the month of March.
I really enjoyed the bright bold colors of the Echo Parks papers and all the other embellies that were included in this months Creative Cafe KOTM.
Easter and spring are upon us, or some of us. Not really me, since we still have a couple of feet of snow on the ground. It is funny though, around the base of the house, the snow has cleared and my tulips are about 2" above ground level. Maybe there is hope! Let me go ahead and share my first card with you.
I started this card with the beautiful iridescent pink paper. I cut this 5x10 and folded it in half. Cut a 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 piece of pink polka dot and applied to the center of the card. Cut a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 piece of plaid. I cut a 2 1/2 inch circle toward the top of the plaid with a punch. You could use any circle cutting tool you have on hand. I cut a slightly larger piece of the blue bunny paper and placed this behind where my opening would be. I backed the plaid with foam tape, carefully added grass to the lower portion of the circle to replicate green grass for my bunny.
On white paper, I stamped the bunny in black. I dug out an old bottle old Liquid Appliqué.
For this, you could use white flock, glitter, or even emboss to get a slightly different effect. Once it was completely dry, I fussy cut around my bunny and placed him down near my grass.
From the paper strips piece of paper, I cut out two clouds and added them into the sky. Created my flowers, stamped my sentiment and my card was complete.
Yes, this picture was taken upside down in hopes that you could see how the grass is tucked in behind.
I thank you for taking a look at my card today.
