Travel Journal - Part 2 Creative Cafe' kit for May

Hi Everyone!  Well I'm back this weekend as promised to show you how I finished the inside of my Travel Journal.  For those of you who just tuned in, here's a link to the tutorial here that I created last weekend as well as a view of my cover below-

Follow along and I'll share how I finished the inside.  First of all my notepad was originally a Class Assignment Schedule notepad, so there are dates I wanted to reuse but I wanted to cover up the word 'Assignment'  at the top of each page.   Second, these note pages are very light weight and I didn't want to have ink leaking through to the other side, so before stamping I took my ATG tape runner, and adhered 3-4 pages together still leaving m 10-12 days for journaling my trip!

With my pages prepped, I went ahead and started stamping.  For the global image below, I first masked off at the line to only stamp in the upper margin as you see below.

Taking the plane and it's jet stream, I used them to travel across both pages as in the picture below.

Next I inserted into the inside of my spine, some of the seam tape ribbon included in the kit- I now have a book mark to complete my journal!

Here's my journal with the covers and spine in place and my bookmark, set to mark my spot!

But wait I'm not quite done yet, what's a travel journal without pictures!  So I created a booklet, and a pocket to hold it and placed in the inside back cover.

My pocket is cut 2 1/2 x 6 inches
Scored from each end at 1/2", 3/4", 1" - giving you a pocket depth of 1/4"
Place 1/2" wide Score-Tape to the 1/2" in on the areas just scored.
For the bottom, adhere a thick dimensional tape to the adhere and complete the bottom

For the booklet - you can create a folded accordian or cut single cards.  I chose to do a origami fold using two pcs of 8 1/2x 11 white cardstock.  Both are folded in half each direction creating 4 sections each 4 1/4 x 5 1/2-
With my scissors I cut from at the 4 1/4" fold up to where center at 5 1/2".  Repeat that on the other pc.  Now overlap the ends that have the slit and adhere one corner 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 section to the other.
Fold and manipulate back and forth forming pages so it looks like the picture below:

I adhered other open areas together to create one page - and continued to accordian fold it into itself like you see in this picture.

Laying it flat you're now ready to decorate and insert your photos

That's it- thanks for stopping by,
