Today's card for The Rubber Cafe features the Monster Bash Creative Cafe Kit. For this set I used images from the add-on stamp set Monster Lab.
I picked the funky pumpkins from the designer paper pad and cut it to 5 1/4 x 4 inches and layered it on a black panel measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches. For a fun touch I doodled around the edge with a 01 Micron pen.
I selected a few coordinating papers to stamp my sentiments out on.
TIP: I don't precut little banners like this, I stamp them on the patterned paper and then trim them to size with my paper trimmer. I keep the blade about the same distance away as I trim all of the way around the words I want to use. If making a banner tail, leave a bit wider space to cut your banner tails. My banners ended up being just a tad bit over 1/4 inch tall and various lengths.
The dog colored with Copic markers and is fussy cut.
TIP: When I fussy cut, I leave a small white border around images to help make them pop.
The dog and sentiments are layered on a black panel measuring 4 1/8 x 2 5/8 inches. The
green dot paper measures 3 15/16 x 2 7/16 inches. The dog is popped up
over the sentiment box. The black paper measures 1 15/16 x 9/16 inches
and the green dot paper measures 1 13/16 x 1/2 inch. Again, I do not premeasure my papers when matting, I simply line things up on my paper cutter and cut it the same distance from the image or banners all of the way around.
I used fussy cutting on a chevron piece to form a fun border. No science to my measuring here, I just cut the paper so I had 3 dark green chevron stripes.
The gems layered on buttons are my tip of the month...why not layer the embellishments up and create a new look?
