Good morning TRC friends.
Mary-Ann here, sharing my first card of the month with the November Creative Cafe KOTM - Love Makes you Happy. It contains a variety of different items this month. Along with The Story of our Family by Lori Whitlock - Echo Park paper pad, various ribbons and vibrant Bazzill cardstock, we received two different colored in pads by Ranger and a super awesome gel pen.
For my first card, I used the Main Stamp set that is included in your kit - Family Tree.
First, cut the kraft paper 5 inches wide by 10 inches and folding it in half to create a 5x5 card base.
Add a 4 3/4 x 4 3/4 block of owl woodgrain paper and add to the front of the card. I like dimension so I backed mine with foam tape first.
Cut a 2 3x4 x 4 1/2 piece of word paper, back with foam and leave backing of foam tape on until after next step.
Next, stamp, color and fussy cut four tree branches. Instead of using these as a branch, I used them to create a thicket of trees. I layered them at different heights and used foam to pop up the last one.
Next, stamp, color and fussy cut the little yellow owl chick and the parent owls shown. I do have a uncolored layer of owls under the parents in punched circle. Use foam to layer directly on top and stamp another portion and cut out additional eyes and pop with foam and apply.
Back to the word paper, I used Scor-tape and applied brown ribbon directly on top. I repeated this two more times dropping it down to the bottom of the paper as shown until it was completely covered. This represented dirt or ground to me. Assemble the card as shown adding the sentiment at the end.
Here you can see the layers of foam tape.
** If you are mailing this card, you can leave out the foam to make it less chunky.
Thank you for stopping in today. Keep checking back, our design team has some really great things coming your way this month.
