For the Love of Kittens

Hi folks! Just check out these super duper cute kittens. I will take one of each please! Mary-Ann here with another card for you today. Starting with an A2 card base of the shimmery pink, I added two other papers slightly smaller to the front of the card.

I cut the white shimmer cardstock to a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2.  Setting the card aside and using only the white paper at this point, I masked the dog and balloon stamp so that I would only utilize the balloon.  I stamped gray ink and used silver embossing powder and set with a heat gun.

Sorry for the bad picture!  After embossing, I colored my balloons randomly with a touch of Faber Castle Gelatos.  I used a blender pen to color these it to get the watercolored effect. The pink and red turned out to be too stark so once they dried, I reapplied white to the top to lighten the underneath colors a bit.

Once it dried, I backed it with foam and added it to the front of the card. I added my paper layering to the center of the card backed with foam again.  Colored and fussy cut my kittens, added a heart to the tush of one and I was done!  I did color these cute creatures with colored pencils.

I hope you have enjoyed this card and I will see you again really soon.

Think of You

Hello TRC Fans!  Today I have a fun card to share with you using supplies from the February Creative Cafe Kit - Love The Most Wonderful Feeling.  I used a sentiment block from the Doodlebug 6x6 paper pad included in the kit.

I stamped the cute little doggie onto white cardstock and colored him with a copic marker.  I stamped the balloon onto some of the patterned paper and fussy cut it.  I added the little scalloped heart that is also included in the kit!

Here is a close-up!

I really love the colors and patterns of this Doodlebug paper and have almost used the whole pad!

Hope you have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

You're So Pawsome! - Featuring Guest Designer Brenda Smith and our Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month!

Hey everyone!  Brenda here to share another card with February's Creative Cafe's Kit of the month, from The Rubber Cafe'.  This little puppy is just adorable!  I can just imagine my 4 year old tying a balloon to her dog to see if he can fly.  I better not let her see this or she might decide to try it.

I have been loving grid style cards and layouts lately. I thought a little mini grid would be a fun way to mix up a few of my favorite papers from the "Love Bugs" pack.

Even just a couple of different patterns placed next to each other add a little interesting dimension to this card. The hearts were just the little extra it needed.

Here's a closer look...

Thanks for stopping by today!

Paw Print Step Card

Happy Sunday Rubber Cafe' Fans!

So excited to share another fun card that I made with this month Creative Cafe' Card Kit from The Rubber Cafe'.

This months kit is called "Paw Prints on your Heart" and it is full of adorable furry friends!

Today I made a simple step card.  I used the "Live, Love, Bark" stamp set that comes with this months kit.

To make this card I started with a half sheet of red cardstock (11" x 4 1/4")
I scored it at 2 1/2", 5:, 6 3/4", 8 1/2" and 9 3/4"

Fold back and forth on the score lines.
Cut patterned paper pieces to fit the steps and adhere with Scrap Happy Glue.

Stamp images and sentiments on white cardstock with Memento Black Tuxedo Ink and color with Copic Markers.

Now you can start to build the step card.
Back the dog house panel with a slightly larger pink panel and then a scallop edge red panel.
Adhere to back step with Scrap Happy Glue.

Die cut the sentiment panel with an oval die and the back with a slightly larger pink oval before adhering to the second step on the card with Scrap Happy Glue.
Cut out the dog and adhere him to the card with Scrap Happy Glue

For the front step, cut out the last image and adhere with Scrap Happy Glue.

Add the heart embellishments to the card.

It's so easy to create a fun fold card like this one.
I hope you'll give it a try!

Love Is A Four-Legged Word!

No flocking on my Rubber Cafe card today featuring the Love, The Most Wonderful Feeling Creative Cafe Kit.

I loved the kitties, so decided to dress them up with Copic Markers and the fussy cut the image.  I know everyone is not as nutty as I am with cutting, but I love that you can  peek between the  kitties and their tails...so fun!

I stamped the sentiment on the acetate in the kit with Stazon Ink.  I cut a heart aperture in the card by tracing a heart shaped piece of cardstock I had on hand and then cutting with a craft knife.  I hand pierced around the heart and then used embroidery floss to frame my heart and attach the acetate to my designer paper.

The shaker pieces are from last month's kit, but there are similar sequins in the store.  The cardstock and pearl stickers are included in this month's kit.  I added a few tiny glass ball beads for a fun effect.

Pawesome Pup

Funny how sometimes when I am creating, I take a break, come back to what I need to work on a create something very similar to what I just created.  Mary-Ann here with you today and I want to share with you that sometimes it's ok not to re-invent the wheel.  If something works, why not do it again.  Here is my last post....
See the similarities???  Changing out the stamps and adding a triangle banner makes this card completely different with the same 'bones' if you will.  Kinda like creating off of a sketch.  Did you guys see Karen's card sketches?  Go HERE to check those out.

Now, the only major difference for this card, is that I cut and piece the house and the dog.  Stamping repeatedly and then fussy cutting the pieces I needed for layering.  The house - that was little different.  I stamped the house out of red, backed the open space with acetate, backed the edges with foam and then added the black behind.  This gives it a flap for the dog to enter and keep warm.  The stunning heart embellishments from Doodlebug, that are included in the kit, helped highlight the house and my title.

Here you can see the layering of the house and the dog.

Here is the banner.  I rolled my ribbon so that it would be thinner and with a Tiny Attacher stapled both ends.

Here it is again.  Go ahead and give repetition a try but vary your papers and stamps and see how easy it is!

See you all next week.

Supplies:
Paper: The Rubber Cafe'- Creative Cafe' Kit for Feb; Love, the Most Wonderful Feeling featuring Doodlebugs' Love Bugs 6x6 Paper Pad
Ink: Memento Espresso; Tuxedo Black
Adhesives: The Rubber Cafe'- Scrap Happy Glue
Embellishments: The Rubber Cafe' - Heart Gems and ribbon all found in the kit
Tools: Triangle punch, Tint Attacher (you  could use a stapler)

You Are So Pawsome!

Hello TRC Fans!  Hope you are having a great week so far.  Today I have a fun card to share with you using the February Creative Cafe Kit - Love The Most Wonderful Feeling.  I really love the little dog image.  I used my copic marker to make his eyes into hearts and I added some hearts for spots on him.  Isn't he cute?

Here is a different view....

To create this card, I cut a piece of black and white cardstock to resemble a tag.  I stamped the dog image and colored it then fussy cut it out.  I layered a strip of white cardstock that I used a scalloped edge punch on across the card and tied the ribbon around that portion.  I added the sentiment and stamped the little paw onto a circle of white cardstock to complete the card.

This was so fun to create!  Hope you are enjoying your kit this month!
