A Quick And Simple Card!

Hello TRC Fans!  Today I have a quick and simple card to share with you using supplies from the May Creative Cafe' Kit - Going Places.  Using the embossing folder included in the kit can really make your simple card look fantastic!

After stamping the globe image onto white cardstock, I used a copic marker to color it and then fussy cut it out.    I also used some edge punches to get the details along the middle of my card.  I added the twine and the button to complete the card.  Oh yeah!  Don't forget to stamp the bottom!

This was really quick and easy!  I love when everything matches!

Enjoy the Journey

Hope your having a great day Rubber Cafe'  friends.
I told you last week that you would see that map stamp again from me!  I could not let you down.
This time, instead of gold, I used black embossing powder.
The best thing about the Creative Cafe Kit of the month is you can bring in any inks, powder, or markers that suit for your fancy.  I am a big big fan of black but sometimes, other colors are necessary!

This card has a 5x5 base.  I layered papers as you see.  I stamped then embossed the map onto white cardstock and fussy cut around it.  Placed it on the center white cardstock with foam tape.  From one of the paper pieces included in your kit, I cut three different tags, then layered as so.  I added the blue ribbon, twine and then flair.  To balance the flair, I added foam tape to the top and bottom, leaving the center open for the twine to run through.

I tried to emboss a red heart on top of this section of the map, but it just did not show.  So I decided to go back to February's Creative Cafe kit and use one of the red hearts from Doodlebug.  You could leave it blank or add any thing you love.

I hope to see you again really soon.

Life Is A Grand Adventure Tri-Shutter Card!

Hello Rubber Cafe' Fans!  Hope you have been having as much fun as I have with this month's kit!  Today I want to share with you how I made this Tri-Shutter card!

To create this card is easy!  Cut a 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of cardstock from the kit to 5 1/2 x 10 1/2".  Then score at 1 3/4", 3 1/2", 7", and 8 3/4".  The cut horizontal lines from the first score line to the last score line at 1 1/2" from each edge.

Here is a video showing you how I created this card!

Happy Memorial Day - from The Rubber Cafe'

Remembering those who have served we Thank you!

From all of us at The Rubber Cafe' - have a safe and happy Memorial Day!

enjoy life

In my 35 years, if I have learned one thing it would be to enjoy the journey.  Life is short, sometimes shorter than it should be so I am hoping this card will remind someone close to me to enjoy it.  Of course a journey on this adorable ride would make anyone smile.  Isn't it too cute?

This card composition was actually really easy.  It is 4 1/2 by 5 horizontal design.  The light blue cardstock is 4 3/4 square. Over that is one of my favorite papers in the MME pack.  I measured and cut rounded corners on a 4x3 scrap.  Then a 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 yellow scrap and a 4 3/4 x 2 3/4 chevron over that.  Next I stamped and colored the scooter on a white cardstock that was 3 1/2 x 3 white cardstock.  This card was super simple so I thought I should add a little stitching.  The stitching is visible on the inside of the card but I may add a simple cardstock there and use that space to write.  Otherwise it is clean stitching so it doesn't look horrible.

Travel Easel Card

Kristine here today with my final card that I made with this months Creative Cafe kit of the month!
This months kit is all about travel and with the My Mind' Eye- 6x6 pad hello world!  and our very own exclusive stamp set, Grand Adventure.  We think you'll be very inspired!

Today, I made a fun Easel Card with the kit.

To make this card I started with a 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" panel of cardstock.
I used my Scor-Pal to score the panel at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4".

Then I folded the card on the 4 1/4" score and adhered patterned paper to the front with  Scrap Happy Glue.

I tied a ribbon from the kit around the score line.

I stamped the sentiment on a white panel with Memento Nautical Blue ink and adhered it and a puffy sticker from the kit to the top front portion of the card with Scrap Happy Glue.

For the inside I adhered a panel of patterned paper to a slightly larger teal panel with Scrap Happy Glue.  I stamped the "hello" and the "heart" on the panel with Memento Nautical Blue ink and then adhered it to the bottom inside of the card with 3D Foam.

Then when you Fold the front of the card on the score line it will stay open.

I stamped the scooter with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored with Copic Markers.
Then I backed the panel with Scallop edge die cut circle panels.

I glued the panel to the card base as shown below with Scrap Happy Glue

When it's flat and ready to mail it looks like this.

That's it!  Easy Peasy fun fold card that the recipient will love to receive!

I hope you'll give it a try!

Stamping with patterned paper -Grad Card

Hi Everyone!

I have a fun and simple layered card today that I think would be a perfect card for that special Graduate in your life as well.

I've combined some simple stamped phrases with the patterned paper from our kit -MME -Hello World!  And that piece is built on a background piece of  yellow cardstock cut 4 1/4" x 5 1/2, with 2 rows of cars bordering on each side.

So here's a look at my finished card, follow-along and I'll tell you how I constructed this simple card.

Now to the stamping part - At the top of my card on the golden yellow base layer, I stamped the phrase; 'nobody sees the world quite like you do'  which fit just perfectly in the area I had left.

Here's a closeup - where you can see the phrases 'enjoy the journey' and 'Life is a Grand Adventure'  that I stamped in between the lines using the white space of the chevron pattern of the paper, giving a sense of motion.

To finish I embellished the upper LH corner, with a punched layered arrows, and one of the buttons from the kit, Travel and see the World.  I also wrapped some twine from the kit around the left had side of the card.

Here's one more look at my card - I think it could easily be used for a Graduation card or Retirement or just because!
 Thanks for stopping by!

Quite Like You!

Love the saying on this card for The Rubber Cafe featuring the Going Places kit!   I loved the little paper airplanes along with the squiggly trails included in this set.  And speaking of not seeing the world the same....I saw a fun photo corner using two of the plane images!  I stamped the planes in Color Box inks; half in Warm Red and then a little more than half with Tangerine for a fun blended effect.  I popped the camera up on foam tape.  I just had to add a bit o glitter, so dressed my globe up in You're So Fine Glitter in Blue Skies, Limeade Green, Passion Pink and Bronze Medal.  Once dry, I popped the globe, plans and camera up on foam tape for dimension.  The globe stand is fussy cut and colored with Copic Markers.
