Good Morning!!! Candi back again to share a simple Tri-Fold card using the March Creative Cafe KOTM :)
When I am creating, measuring is not a big deal to me! Let me explain how I created this card...
I grabbed the kraft 8 1/2 x 11 piece of cardstock and placed it in front of me (portrait, not landscape). With my hands I grabbed the left hand side and folded in that side down and used my bone folder to make a nice crease! I just guessed as to how far to fold in...no measuring at all! I opened up that fold and then took the right hand side and folded that side in. Once again I used my bone folder to make a nice crease! Just in case you do want to know the measurements...the left flap is 3 1/4 inches wide and the right flap is 2 1/2 inches. Now I have this really long tri-fold card...next up I grabbed my paper trimmer and just trimmed off what I thought would be a fun size for a card. I ended up trimming it down to 5 1/4 inches! Now I have 2 tri-fold cards...one for now and one for later :)
Next I grabbed a few of the 6 x 6 papers from that amazing Paper Pad and trimmed down a piece that would fit the front left panel. Before I adhered it down, I edged it with my brown chalk ink pad. I took my second piece of paper from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad and trimmed down a piece to fit the right hand side panel. Once again I edged the paper with my ink pad before adhering it down.
Let's talk about the ribbon and the front of my card again! After adhering those two panels down, next I stamped out "best wishes" from the Little Cupcake Stamp Set. I used brown ink and stamped it out on a piece of kraft cardstock. I trimmed around the wording and edged all sides with brown ink. I sandwiched the ribbon in between two layers of cardstock with some roller adhesive and then adhered that to the front of my card. Next I tried several things with that ribbon...I tried just wrapping it around the card and tying a bow, but my bows were pretty sad :( I ended up adhering the ribbon to my card, all the way around to the right hand side panel! (see above and below)
To cover up that ribbon I added another trimmed down piece from the 6 x 6 Paper Pad...
I left the card empty inside to write my note!
I used several of the Silver embellishments from Queen & Co.! Those pearls add just the perfect touch to any handmade card!!!
Hope you were able to grab some inspiration from this blog post to create your very own tri-fold card!
I will be back soon with another creation...can't wait :)
