I just love this Just My Type set from The Rubber Cafe. I decided to go with a blue typewriter this time...and love this color combo!

This set comes with a variety of sentiments...so you can customize your message to your recipient!

I used the following Copic Markers: W7, W5, W3, B21, B0000, R83, R81, E40.

I added a wintery touch to the heart by adding a snowflake and embellishing it with some Candi!

Fin-tastic Waterfall Card

Fishing for Details is one of my favorite stamp sets at The Rubber Cafe!

It has all you need to create a really fun underwater scene!

For today's card I used it to create a "Waterfall" card.

You can find directions to make a "Waterfall" style card here.

I used a die cut waterfall mechanism for my card from Creative Cuts and More.

Grab the flower tab and pull down and the squares will "fall" away.

I Love You Card

It’s that time of year again when we break out the hearts, love and all things pink! This year is no exception. My favorite color is pink so I’m really happy to be using it more and more these next few weeks.

I made this card for the challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers using the Belleek Pottery tutorial. This was so much fun!

I used Tim Holtz ink Spun Sugar and a Cuttlebug embossing folder to achieve this look. I also used Spellbinders dies S5-030 Fancy Tags Two #2 and S4-314 Lacey Ovals #2 and #4 with my Spellbinder Grand Calibur.

I then stamped the I Love You from the K-1160 Just My Type set in the same color for the center. Finally I finished it off with some white pearl Jellie Dots. and some ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for looking! I love all these new techniques. You should give it a try if you haven’t already.

Hi! We have wintery and ice cold morning here in Sweden. And I long for spring! Already! Well, good thing is one can get the springy feelings out of the body by stamping! :) And using soft pastels! :)

I used a soft green paper and stamped some fabbie vintage stamps from the Vintage Treasures Set with a sand colored ink.

The sentiment is from Just my Type set.

What do you think about the flower? It’s my first try making a fabric flower using glots following the SUPER great video tutorial by Melissa? You fin it HERE! I love my Scrap Happy Glue!!!

Special Thoughts of You

Michelle P here with a clean and simple card perfect for letting someone know that you care. We are dealing with some family responsibilities of late, so a thinking of you card of the Clean And Simple sort came to mind!

I used the Large Poinsettia in a different way....I colored it purple and to me it's a Clematis for this card! I stamped it with tone-on-tone ink for my background paper and then accented my blower petals with Copic Marker BV000. It fades away to almost nothing...but I like the subtle shaded look.

Next I used One and Only Tape in two ways on this card....first to tape down my Spellbinders Fleur De Lis border and next to add a touch of You're So Fine Glitter in Purple Rocks along the top of my card. I added some Candi from the Lavender and Lace collection to my die cut with Candi Fix.

I added a touch of glitter to the Special Thoughts Outline stamp with a lavender copic spica glitter pen. I stamped the Small Poinsettia and colored it with the following Copic Markers: BV04, BV02, YG95, YG93, Y38, Y35. I fussy cut my image and used the One and Only Tape to adhere it to my card.

My final embellishment is a Martha Stewart butterfly punch embellished with some gems.

Embossed Backgrounds

Last week I received my copy of the latest "Just Cards" issue and there was an old card I had made using background stamps from a company that has since closed it doors published in the issue.

I liked the card so much that I decided to recreate it using some background stamps from The Rubber Cafe.

Here's the card I came up with! I think I love it even more than the original!

The top background is Pattern Royale by The Rubber Cafe, and the bottom pattern is from Background Basics. I embossed the top one with Stampendous Party Pink embossing powder and the bottom one with Midnight Detail embossing powder.

This picture shows the embossing detail a little better. These background stamps work great for embossing!

Dog-gone good birthday

Hi! Hope you had a lovely crafty weekend and are ready for a new week! I’ve been playing with the cutest ever pug stamp from the A Pug For The Holidays set. Who said these stamps are for Christmas only? Love versatile stamps!!!

The cutie pie is stamped with Versa Fine Onyx Black on water color . paper and then colored with Distress inks: Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Weathered Wood and Black Soot. I cut him out to make him (in my head he is a boy!) pop. I mounted him on a Spellbinders die cut Labels Sixteen.

I cut out one piece of white cardstock and while still having the paper in the die I used it to trace a frame with a black pen. I used the outside of the same die to trace a pattern on red cardstock and cut out with scissors.

The cute sentiment is from the Birthday and Balloons set and stamped with Distress ink, Festive Berries.

We are just one month away from Valentines Day so I thought I would share a fun Valentines Day card with you today!

I just love this stamp set, "Just my Type", from The Rubber Cafe.

I added a lot of texture to this card but first using a cuttlebug embossing folder to dry emboss the heart layer. I added some fun bling with Nestablings.

Here's a closer look so you can see the bling a little better.

I even finished the inside with another sentiment that comes with the set.

Vintage Dressform Blank Card

With the new year, I’ve made it my goal to create a stash of cards before I need them so I’m prepared when the time comes. I was thinking it would be great to have a set of all purpose cards that I could make for different occasions. Well here is what I came up with:

I used some Kaiser Kraft paper over kraft cardstock to form my base for the card. Then I used the J-1074 Frame Heart Stamp in Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Festive Berries over the patterned paper.

Doesn’t that look pretty over that paper?

I then covered this beautiful dress form in TRC-0010 Scrap Happy Glue and a mixture of G-120 You’re So Fine Glitter, Diva Pink and G-101 You’re So Fine Glitter, Silver Medal. I then set the dress off even more with a few small rhinestones and a tiny piece of lace trim.

For the smaller vintage embellishments I used a technique I saw on Pinterest of painting on your shrinky dinks with acrylic paint and then over-stamping them before shrinking.

The acrylic gets a crackled look to it and with some sealer they would be fantastic for your next project! On the sheet above, I used the S-114 Vintage Treasures stamps set and the S-113 Steampunk Charity Wings set.

I hope you’ve been inspired today to get some of those extra cards made for your stash. You never know when you might need a card in a pinch. Better to have some on hand and prepared.

Beautiful Grey

Hi! New week! Again! :) I have a CAS card to share today using one of the fab background stamps from The Rubber Café.

I stamped and heat embossed The Roaring 20’s Placards with the beautiful grey color Iced Sproused from the Tim Holtz Seasonal Distress Ink – Winter 2012. And then inked it all up with the Evergreen Bough (from the same collection) and Weathered Wood. I finally sprayed it all with perfect pearl mist.

The butterfly is from the Vintage Treasure set.

A Box of Cards

I hope your weekend is off to a fabulous start! Do you have a little stamping time scheduled? I hope so! A little stamping time is just enough to make today's fun project!

I made this for a gift for the one guy I work with. I always give the ladies in my department a box full of different cards and last year he made a comment that he sends cards too...so I decided to make a more masculine set of cards for him.

I gave him this box with two of each card but when I took these pictures I only had one of each done but I think you get the idea!

Here's a look at the four colors.

I used Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Black Soot, and Antique Linen Distress ink on these.

I had a package of felt ribbon that has been collecting dust and they matched perfectly with some of my Ranger Distress Inks. I Made each card by stamping a white card stock panel with The Roaring 20's Placard and then used a sponge to add ink to the edges and front of the panel. I used Scrap Happy Glue to adhere the stamped panel to the coordinating card front and then added the felt ribbon and a couple of random large brads I had in my stash.

To make the box you'll need two pieces of card stock cut to 7 1/8" x 7 3/4".

Hopefully my lines and numbers below make sense to you!

Basically, as you can see in this picture, you are making two sides of a box with out a lid.

Use Scrap Happy glue to put it together. I love this glue because it stays tacky and movable for a little bit so you can get everything together just right but once it's dry it holds really well!

Here it is with the two sides put together.

The lid is approximately 4" x 5". You can use any punch around the edges or just leave it plain.

Here's a look at the box all closed up. I just added a panel like the card fronts and a ribbon to the top.

The Rubber Café is currently looking for a few crafty creative designers to join our design team. All international applications are welcomed. We manufacturer with love and care a unique line of rubber stamps right on our premises in San Diego County, California.

We are looking for designers whose work includes altered projects, clean and simple, elegant, mixed media, shabby chic, vintage, sewing projects … or anything you can think of using The Rubber Café products.

Requirements include:

Commit to a 6 month turn beginning February 1, 2012 to July 31, 2012 Provide one project a week highlighting The Rubber Cafe products.
Create one project a week and post it on The Rubber Cafe blog. Projects can be layouts, cards, home decor, altered projects, or anything in between!
One project a month must be a tutorial featuring our Scrap Happy glue.
Post projects on at least two community websites such as Splitcoast.com and/or Scrapbook.com.
Submit projects to magazines for publication. We do have a publication reward program for each active design team member.
Be an active blogger posting regularly to your personal blog.
Be passionate about your craft and have fun!!!

I have a clean and simple card for you today. I've been waiting on using the Warren and Frosty image until we had snow here in Wisconsin...and it sounds like we might get a whopping 3 inches tonight! I haven't minded a snowless winter as far as the roads go...but my kids are itching for some snow to romp around in!

I colored my image with Copic Markers and framed it with a simple pierced border. I kept the embellishments simple and monochromatic with a touch of Candi to finish them off.

Season’s Greetings

Hi! Hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas and that Santa brought some scrappy gifts!

I have a wintery card for any occasion this time of year using the adorable Warren & Frosty stamp.

They are colored with Distress inks on watercolor paper and then cut out and mounted on white cardstock that has been stamped with 18th Century Proclamation. I used Distress ink Tea dye to both stamp the background and then ink around the image.

I let Warren’s ears hang loose to give some dimension to the image. Love his cute bunny ears! :)

The card is heavily inspired by a card by Chupa for SCS Featured stamper challenge. Thank you! :)

Falling Snow

I have a vintage winter card for you today!

I was unable to pitch the vintage music scraps after my project last Sunday....and so I sliced them up into strips and made a collage card with them. I had used Scrap Happy Glue to stamp my Leaf Swirls stamp and then glittered it with You're So Fine Silver Glitter.

I added some ricrac and mini brads along with some Sizzix dies, Martha Stewart punches and Candi to embellish my card.

The sentiment is the title of the song I used. The snowflakes on this card are ivory in keeping with the vintage touches.

Quick gift boxes

This time a year the need of quick and easy gift boxes increases…. And the closer to Christmas one is the more the need for the quick and easy part. :) So I thought I’d share the box that has saved me many a time. It looks real nice and is done in a couple of minutes.

Sorry for bad photos, wasn’t able to take photos in daylight.

The boxes are made out of paper stripes 3 x 8. the papers are scored at half at 4” and on then scored like a diamond shape from the short ends. Start on the center of the short end 1 1/2, and score to the outer edge of either side of the center scored line of the long side. When this is done from both sides simply fold along all the five scored line and punch a hole and tie a ribbon to hold it. Sorry for bad explanation, hope you get it.

The boxes are decorated with cutie pies Dudley & Warren. Colored with distress inks and cut out. Sentiment from Christmas Tidings set.

The tag cards are made out of Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents and Circles Nestabilities. The stamp is from the Christmas Tidings Set.

Pyramid Gift Box

This week's challenge at The Rubber Cafe is to make treat/gift boxes. I have also gone and gotten myself another addictive hobby....Pinterest! I pinned this Pyramid Gift Box and just had to give it a go Rubber Cafe style!

For this project I used a cardboard base 3x3 inches and four triangles that have a 3 inch short side. You can alter the height of your triangles as you wish, just make sure the long sides are equal in length. I used two sheets of vintage sheet music, Scrap Happy Sheer Glue, One and Only Tape, silver You're So Fine Glitter and Leaf Swirls.

I stamped with glue onto my sheet music and covered with the glitter. Let dry.

Next Tape the triangle bases to the square base and fold corners together. If all fits, use tape or glue to adhere your sheet music.

For this photo, I placed a battery-operated votive and a tiny candle wreath inside...you could leave one side off and make this a cute lantern as well!

Then pop a hole in each of the triangle peaks and thread some ribbon through. I heated the tails of my ribbon with a heat gun to give it a vintage feel. I also added some extra tails and melted those as well.

Treat Box

Happy Saturday!!!

This week the Rubber Cafe Design Team ladies are hard at work on Christmas treat bags and boxes in case you need some last minute gift wrapping ideas!

I decided to make this quick Treat Box that I found on the Splitcoast Stampers site.

It's the perfect little box to fill with candy, stamping goodies or anything else you can think of!

Here is the basic box before I added the Warm and cozy Warren image and sentiment.

The sentiment is from Christmas Tidings and I added l ime green nestabling lo the die cut to help make it pop!

It's a fun little box to fill with goodies for that crafty friend or family member!

Last Minute Cards

Happy Friday Everyone, I am feeling a little under the weather so my Last Minute Cards are kind of strange to me..lol, I am just going to blame it on congested head.. I decided to try and use several scrap pieces of pattern paper and some up cycled cards that I used to die cut my snowflakes out of.

Isn't this just the cutest stamp? Cuteness! Donovan and Warren, just love this stamp from The Rubber Cafe.

As you can see I used the same pattern and layout for each of my three cards, I just used different pattern paper and some different ribbon. How do you like the snowflake? The snowflake was created using the S5-059 Ironwork Motifs, I just love using this set for snowflakes.

Each of the card bases where created using the LF-347 Grand Labels Twenty-Three from Spellbinders™ as well as S4-346 Labels Twenty-Two from Spellbinders™. I used some You're So Fine Glitter - Patriot Red and the Scrap Happy Glue for my stamped image. I hope you have enjoyed my Last Minute Card creations, it is a great way to use up all of those scraps you have collecting dust. I hope that you all have a Merry Christmas as this will be my last post for the year. Happy Holidays!

CAS Quick Card Set

For my quick card set this week, I chose to try something a bit out of the box. We’ve had some wonderful samples using coloring, glittering, and regular stamping so I decided to showcase something a bit different.

I decided to go with F-608 Presents for Warren stamp using white pigment ink and Stamp & Bond embossing powder. I just love the look of white on kraft colored cardstock.

. . . and look how great it looks with the glitter too. I used our TRC0010 Scrap Happy Glue and G108 You’re So Fine Glitter in Diamond Clear Cool and Princess Pink on the presents to help them pop.
Since my card above did have some fussy cutting, I thought I would do another simpler version with less cutting so it could be replicated quickly.

This card simply uses the stamp with white pigment ink along with the glitter for the snow and accents to the presents but with no embossing powder.

So you can see what a different look this is by using the white ink and glitter.

For this final card, I simply used the glitter for the snow base and nothing else on the stamp. This last card would be incredibly easy and fast to do if in a hurry.

Also did you see the beautiful bow centers?

These are made with our FABULOUS Jellie Dots. They are so gorgeous. Here’s how I created the bow centers.

To make the centers, you will need the RC001 Stick Em’ Up tool, Jellie Dots, and TRC0010 Scrap Happy Glue.

Simply place a small amount of glue on a 1 inch circle covering about half of the middle. Let air dry for a few minutes until it becomes tacky.

Next using the Stick Em’ Up tool, place the Jellie Dots in the center of the circle.
TIP: Ever have a problem getting embellishments to flip over? I’ve found that by putting the Jellie Dots in the lid and giving it a quick shake, they will flip over so that I can then pick them up.

Once the flower centers are adhered, you can then cut around them and adhere to your project. It’s that easy.

Quick cards

This week we're sharing some ideas for making quick cards.

(I got inspiration for this card from a magazine)

I used You're so fine Glitter on the top of this card.

I Punched holes, attached the eyelets, threaded with ribbon and attached my tag. I had stamped the tag with the sentiment Merry Christmas from the Christmas Tidings stamp set. It's hard to see but I also stamped the pattern paper with Pattern Royale background stamp.

(I inked the edges of the tag using my Li'l inkers

with three distress inks and I ended up with a rich red/burnt umber color that matched the PP perfectly)

So that's it. Both Quick and Easy!!

Last Minute Seasonal Cards

Hi!!! This week’s theme is perfect for me. I’m the procrastinator – big time. I can spend hours on fun projects only to end up with like no time to make my Christmas cards… Soooo I challenged myself yesterday and gave me an hour to finish two sets of three cards. I did it in 54 minutes… :)

First up is a cute and fun Christmas card which took almost forty minutes to finish due to some fuzzy cutting. But it was worth it!

I started with making all the elements of the cards: Die cutting card base and card front with Spellbinders Grand Labels 1, stamping the über CUTE pug from the A Pug For The Holidays set, coloring them and cutting them out etc.

It took no time to assemble the cards.

Next set is for Hanukkah using the Celebrating The Festival Of Lights Set.

A couple of more sets and I’m ready to mail!

Clean and Simple Seasonal Set

This week's challenge was to make some clean and simple holiday cards. I had my glitter out yet from the last project I did.....so I chose to go glitzy!

My first card features the Deck the Halls stamp. I kept the design clean on all of my cards....I used a monochromatic color scheme except for my glittered image and sentiment.

Season's Greetings comes from the Ornamental Holiday set. I popped eacch sentiment up on foam tape on a panel that I edged with glitter.

My second card features Shooting Star Warren.

My third card features Having a Ball.

My final card features Warm and Cozy Warren.

All of my cards feature You're So Fine Glitter and Scrap Happy Glue.

Christmas is in two weeks...are you ready???

Are your cards done? Or like me...did you think they were done and then you get some in the mail from old friends and need to suddenly get some more cards mailed out?!?!

I had a few last minute cards that I needed to make so I thought I would share them with you in case you find yourself in the same spot!

This card uses the sentiment from Warm Wishes and Small Burlap Tree.
I also quickly added some Jelly Dot ornaments to dress up this simple card.

This CAS card gets it's beauty from Gold embossing powder.

I used the sentiment from Warm Wishes and Large Swirled Reindeer.

This is a pretty quick card to make. I scored the left edge a couple of times and tied a ribbon around the white layer before stamping the sentiment and image.

All the stamps are from Warm Wishes.

I always need a few Hanukkah cards too so I thought I'd share a couple of quick ones with you.

For this one I embossed the Menorah from Celebrating the Festival of Lights with silver embossing powder and the sentiment (Happy Hannukkah) was embossed with Sapphire embossing powder.

And finally, this quick card was made with stamps from Celebrating the Festival of Lights.

For my project I chose to do a Rosette Wreath. The paper strips I used were 12 inches x 3.5 inches. To vary the size of the rosettes, I simply punched the edge of the lacey layer and then made the center circle smaller before glueing.

To attach my rosettes, I applied Scrap Happy Glue to some precut circles I had handy. I have one of these on the bottom, middle and top of my wreath.
Supplies Used:

~Candi/Candi Fix
~Spellbinders Beaded Circle Die

I used the glitter and acetate technique to apply glitter to my Large Celtic Rosette. Stamp the image on acetate with stazon and then apply glue and glitters to the back side. Start with your darkest color first. Let dry.

The finished medallion was photo'd against a 12x12 piece of cardstock....so the size is slightly smaller. I used the large celtic medallion which I cut the outer border off of and used the largest Spellbinders Beaded Circle Spellbinders die. I embellished it with Candi/Candi Fix.

If you used the smaller celtic circle stamp you could downsize the medallion size.

Since one of her favorite "go-to" adhesives (besides our Scrap Happy Glue of course) are the little adhesive dots, this will make the perfect gift for her.

Well did you know you can make any size adhesive dots you like with the Scrap Happy Glue??? Yes you can! So with that and the fact that she loves to have pretty things on her desk, I thought I would make her very own adhesive dot container!

This project was so much fun and easy to boot. For further details on how to make the dots, watch Melissa's fabulous "how-to" video.

So let's get started on making those last minute gifts. . . First we need to make the adhesive dots for the insert.

First cut 1 inch strips of parchment or freezer paper and adhere the dull sides together to make it two-sided. Then tape together at the ends to make it the length you want.

Next squeeze the Scrap Happy Glue onto the parchment strips according to the video guidelines. You can make these any size/shape you wish.

Next wind the adhesive dots onto a recycled glue dot spent spindle.

Now for the fun part! Decorating the box. I used a glue dot box and traced around it to make a template.

I used kraft cardstock for my base and Pink Paisley paper stamped with our I-987 18th Century Proclamation stamp using the G-101 You’re So Fine Glitter in Silver Medal.

I then stamped my sentiment from the J-1095 Fabulous Phrases set and matted it with coordinating cardstock.

Did you notice the extra sparkle around the edges? Well if you’ve ever wanted to apply a bit of sparkle to the edges without have to wait YEARS for it to try . . . then try this technique.

First place a small of glue onto a stamping block.

Then using an applicator such as a makeup sponge, apply to edges of cardstock.

Wait a minute or two for the glue to get tacky then simply rub the You’re So Fine Glitter into the glue and that’s it!

No waiting for the glue to dry. Once you’ve rubbed it in, you can keep on working. LOVE IT!!

Isn’t that gorgeous????? Now I’m going to have to glitter EVERYTHING!

Here’s the back of the box. I used the I-984 Pattern Royale stamp set with the Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink along with S-113 Steampunk Charity Wings set on the back.

Check out the glitter on the bird! That technique works on so many different shapes too.

Hi there, how has everybody been enjoying the hop so far??

Today I'm sharing a Christmas Countdown "calendar" I made from a plain wooden key box purchased from a dollar store that I then painted with acrylic paint. It had three hooks on the inside so I removed them covered that part with patterned paper and then replaced the middle hook. I stamped my images on acetate that I attached to the back of the window, creating a shaker box.

(I apologize for the crooked photos, before I could re-take them my battery died)

The holly was colored with ProMarkers and covered in Glossy Accents.

I used gems on the berries.

I cut the leaves and re positioned them and applied the "berries" on top.

On the door trim I cut and glued pattered paper to hide the edges of the acetate.

On the back I screwed in one of the extra hooks to hold the extra number tags

I liked how this turned out the only thing missing now is the chocolate..... :)

My Christmas project is a candle gift box with a built in card.

It’s a box that carries four candles and is decorated with a girdle. I’m using the Warren & Friends stamp Having a Ball on the front and a sentiment from the Christmas Tidings set. Warren is colored with Distress inks and cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 14.

When removing the girdle you can open the card part of the box.

I’ve used the cutest little bunny on the left from the Dudley & Warren set. On the right there are stamps from the Christmas Tidings set.

Tims Tags ... Day 4 and a Santa Box

I know if you have been following you thought that I dropped off yesterday ... A bunch of us were at a crop all day Sat. and I came right home and went to bed . I was exhausted since I have only been sleeping a little . So when I got up in the morning I started trying to make my tag and balck it was awful ... the more I worked on it the worse it got ... so I decided that I needed more craft supplies to get this job done .... Off to Micheal's I went ...

Stamps:Baby its cold outside

I vow that until after Christmas .... I will not walk through the sliding doors of Micheals or Joannes "it was nuts" ! There were a few things bought but nothing I used on my project lol . I think my mojo was there because when I came back I had the idea for
my tag.

So every year at this crop that we go to we have a few contests ... one of them is a tag contest and I have one before . I can be competitive and I was going to the crop with a show stopper . Miss Patti beat me by two votes . Her tag was cute ... I will admit it ...but next year I am going to show up with a 3-d version of its a small world . I decided to try and make her tag and add a few tweaks of my own .

1. Trim your Red Cardstock to 12 X11

2. Align your 12 inch side to the top of the Scor-pal and score at
1/2 inch , 5 inch , 6 1/4 inch , 10 3/4 inch

3. Rotate your paper one quarter turn and Score at 1 1/4 inches and 9 3/4 inches .

4. You can see that I cut the areas where the box is going to fold ..

When doing 3-d project especially ones that are going to be holding stuff you really want to use a liquid adhesive . ScrapHappy glue works great for this because its a strong glue and it dries quick and clear . Fold your box and glue remember to leave the top open ...

5.The Buckle I used Spellbinders Wonky rectangles .

To get the smooth glittered look on the white paper I applied ScrapHappy Glue and let it dry completely . The glue should be completely dry and not leave any sticky on your fingers . Once dry I took some of our super super fine glitter and rubbed and buffed the buckle .

For the Belt I cut a piece of black velvet 1 1/2 inch and glued it on to the box .
The White button lapel is 1 1/2 x 4 inches .

6. For the beard I took a piece of One and only double sided adhesive tape and put it across the top and began curling ribbon. I am not sure of the name of the ribbon but its pretty cheap ... you use it on presents and you run your scissors up it and it curls up . I used about 12 Approx 8 inch pieces .

Merry Pug-mas Wreath

This week the design team ladies are sharing some holiday decoration ideas with you!

I made a cute little wreath! I think I'll be giving this to my sister since she LOVES pugs!

This post is very picture heavy but I wanted to try and show you the step by step process to create this fun holiday project.

I used A Pug for the Holidays & Pattern Royale stamps for this holiday wreath.

The first step was to stamp 5 1/4" x 4" panels of white cardstock with the Pattern Royale stamp. I stamped two in red ink and two in green ink.

After the ink dried, I cut the panels into 1" strips.

I applied Scrap Happy Glue to the backside along the edges of each strip of stamped paper and then begin wrapping the strips around a foam wreath that I bought at my local craft store.

I covered the entire wreath in alternating colors of paper until the wreath was totally covered.

I used the masking technique to stamp the pugs on white cardstock.

Aren't they adorable?!?!

Even cuter after being colored with copic markers!

I covered the entire wreath with Glitter Mod Podge to seal the paper and make it sparkly. Then I wrapped the red ribbon around the top of the wreath before gluing the colored pug panel to the back of the wreath with Scrap Happy Glue.

I glued punched snowflakes and the Spellbinder Fancy Tags sentiment panel on before adding the final bow.

Day Three ... Tim Holtz Tags

So I when I looked at the tag today ... I was stumped so my take on the tag is a bit different then his ... Way different. I tried to use what I had on my desk so I did not have to dig . It looks like a tornado went through here . Wading through craft supplies I would not have it any other way . So the elements in his tag was words .. so I went with the words and the layout.

So the question was asked of me "What are you going to do with your tags when they are done ?" Well I decided since I do not keep things for myself usually I am going to keep them and put them in a large frame hanging off twine and put it on my wall during the holidays if the rest of them turn out well . I was also asked for a kit of all the tags that I am going to make ... IF YOU WANT A KIT please email me ... if there is enough interest I will kit all twelve tags I need at least 10 people . Tag#2 of 12 I am caught up ... Up all night and still want to play . It must have been that last cup of tea with 3 tea bags in it ...LOL I gave up Diet Coke 3 months ago and took up tea... So Tag #2 I noticed that Tim used Canvas and I thought wouldn't this tag look cute taking the Reindeer and heat embossing him on the Canvas . ummmmmmm not so much it didn't look like it did in my head .

Why do that when you can do this ... Thats what was going through my head ... Heat embossing on Cork board ... yup thats I went with ... very very very cool looking . The picture does not do it justice . Once my embossing powders are out ... I start embossing everything ... so the fancy border on the bottom thats the Spellbinders Holly Motifs die ... Oh my ... rubbed it though some Versa Mark and well its absolutely stunning ... it looks like metal and very detailed . I used the rest of the border strip and cut it up to make the wreath around Swirled Reindeers neck . Did I mention that I am armed and dangerous with a Brand new camera ... I love it I have to tell you Canon Powershot Elph 100 HS what a camera .

Well I am going to finish up that last tag and then its off for a nap I think ... LOL I hope that you enjoyed my tags . I wonder what my neighbors think ... I am up all night long all the time the lights are always on ... if they looked in the window I have tables of craft supplies heaped 2 feet high on my desk . Question when you are crafting do you keep your table clean or are you like me and work in a space that you can push the stuff off to the side ?

Well I try this every year to get all 12 tags done and last year I made it to tag #3 ...Yeah me
This year I am going to do it .. 12 tags done its just going to have to happen .
When I first started thinking about doing this I thought I need to have all the things Tim was using ... OH NO I DON'T I just wanted to go shopping lets be real. So I told my husband I am just going to lie down for a nap ... at 8pm I will go to a local craft store and get some of the things I needed ... (I wanted )
I didn't wake up until 11 pm and its 3:20 am and I am still up getting my ink on . I have every Spellbinders die ... I must ... so I figured I would have something that I could make those cute pine cones ... I wanted Pine cones ... What did I use spill you are saying ..I used their Spiral blossom #1 with some ink and puffies ... very impressed how those cute little pine cones turned out .

The Samantha Walker Holly Motifs and Holly Accents WOW they are so beautiful cut out .
Did you get your limited Edition Tim Holtz Inks for Christmas ... Before they run out I have to suggest that you get on it ... they are really cool colors ... I looked at the packaging and was undecided about them but after tonight and working with them ... I am getting a second set ... I am in love all over again .
Every time I use my Tim Holtz Inks I fall in love even more . Should my husband be worried ? Here is my version of the 12 tags of Christmas ... Day 1 and I am already behind LOL

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!

Well the chill is in the air, the tree is up, the outside lights hanging, and I’m listening to Christmas music! What better way to cap off a week of decorating by making a cute little stocking ornament for your tree?

The design team has been hard at work making stockings all this week to help get you in the spirit. I hope you’ve had some time to get in your craft room and play along with us as well.

I wanted this stocking to have a vintage shabby chic feel and I challenged myself to use Melissa’s AMAZING background stamps! These are definitely my go-to stamps to give life to all kinds of projects.

For my project, I used the H978 Background Basics 2 Polka Dot stamp and the EP200 Stampendous Adhesive Powder to adhere the gorgeous G108 Your So Fine Diamond Clear Cool Highlight glitter.

I heart this glitter. It is so baby powdering fine and it sticks so well to the adhesive powder. I was even able to outline the edges of the patterned paper.

Just in case that isn’t enough sparkle for you, I also used the 121007 Crystal Clear Jellie Dots along the edge of the dainty little pom-pom ribbon I had in my stash. Isn’t that just beautiful! It looks so sparkly on my tree.

So there’s my little stocking sitting perfectly in the tree. You could also make these to use in a garland as decoration too. The possibilities are endless.

I hope I’ve inspired you to use your products in new and different ways or to simply try a new technique using the fabulous products in The Rubber Café store.

Stockings hung by the chimney with care....

Hi everyone, thanks for stopping by. This weeks challenge is "Stockings", it was left up to us to use our imaginations as to what that meant. As you can see from the posts the other DT members have been doing, there are endless possibilities.

My take on this challenge are these two socks. One is a decorative card and the other is a gift card holder.

On this sock I used my BIA to bind the cuff of the stocking so I could flip it up and have a sentiment stamped on the underside (see second photo) I stamped the Winter Bird on cream Pugnacious Paper and colored them with copic markers. I put some Glossy Accents on the red berries to add some shine and I fussy cut it out and popped it up on the corner of the cuff (it actually hides a bird that was on the patterned paper).

I stamped the Pattern Royale background stamp on more cream card stock and trimmed it out to make the toe and heel of my sock. I distressed the edges with ink using my Lil inkers and then used Scraphappy glue to attach it on. On the inside flap I used a sentiment stamp from the Christmas Tidings set. I was thinking under the flap would be a good place to put a gift card or maybe a photo as a surprise for the recipient.

This little guy got stamped with the Pattern Royal background stamp as well but all over the sock (it's smaller than the previous stocking) I made this one into a gift card holder by attaching a coin envelope to the back with some One & Only tape. I wrapped some ribbon around the gift card so when the recipient pulls the ribbon the card comes out.

I used a sentiment stamp from the Christmas Tidings set inking one word at a time so I could fit them on my scalloped circle punch out. I then attached some nestabling to add some sparkle.

Happy Holidays Stocking

Hi all! Happy Monday! I’m here with a stocking for this week’s theme. My very first stocking (stockings are not a big thing in Sweden). So fun to make, I’ll make more!!! It’s a card in a stocking shape. I drew a template by hand and when happy with it (wanted a round and chubby kind of stocking) I cut it out from a regular kraft card base.

It’s base is rather flat so it can stand up by itself.

The top is decorated with the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents and some twine with a pearl. A bit of burlap tucked in too.

And the main focus is this cutie pie!

Shooting Star Warren. Totally ADORABLE!

He is colored with Distress inks and got himself some cinnamon stickles on the dark part of his fur and some Glossy Accent on eyes and nose. The stars are also covered with Glossy Accent. Sentiment is from the Warm Wishes set.

Royale Stocking

This week's challenge at the Rubber Cafe is *stocking.*

I decided to go simple vintage for my card. I grabbed a stocking template off of the internet and printed it out on some designer paper from My Mind's Eye.

I stamped the image with Pattern Royale and then cut it out. I ran the stocking through my Xyron machine and then applied You're So Fine Diamond Clear Glitter.

I also applied the glitter around the card panel and on the embossed stocking cuff. I used a piece of Candi to *hang* my stocking.

I used the sentiment from the Warm Wishes set.

Other card details: Clound 9 Designer paper, Prima Lace and Pearls, Martha Stewart snowflake punch.

Christmas Stocking Inspiration

I have been holed up in my craft room all weekend stamping away while hubby watches football!

I hope you've had a chance to do some crafting too!

This week the design team is sharing projects that are "Christmas Stocking" inspired.

I have two projects to share with you!

This first one is a Center Step Card.

You can see that the colors were inspired by this stocking paper by 3 bugs in a rug.

I used one of the newest Rubber Cafe stamps, Warren and Frosty. The sentiment is from the Christmas Tidings set.

My second project is a fun little goodie to throw into a stocking. It's a little Tic Tac holder.

I like to make up a bunch of these and keep them in a basket by the front door to give out to visitors who drop by during the holidays!

These are really quick and easy to make!

Start with a 5" x 3" piece of light blue cardstock.

Stamp the snowman from the "Baby it's Cold Outside" set from The Rubber Cafe onto a 2 3/4" x 1 7/8" piece of white Pugnacious Signature paper.

Score the blue card stock at 2 1/8" and at 2 7/8". Adhere ribbon to backside of card.

Color image and adhere to front. Use a utility knife to cut out the lower portion of the snowman.

Then just attach the Tic Tac box to the inside and tie the ribbon.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I know I had a great time with friends and family. This weeks challenge was a stocking challenge, hmmm that was a challenge. I like to be creative and do things just a little different so for my stocking I used a cute S4-285 Nested Mittens die template from Spellbinders™ and die cut it out of denim material, using white quilting thread I did a blanket stitch all around the outside of the mittens.

Using the Scrap Happy Glue, You're So Fine Glitter - Patriot Red and one of the most adorable stamps that The Rubber Cafe has......Having A Ball.

Some might think that the extra shading on the Christmas ball is a mistake, I like to think of this as a creative opportunity for a little extra shading after all, it is my creation! Speaking of this creation, I am having so much fun using the Scrap Happy Glue on my stamps and then stamping it directly onto different media such as this denim.Once you stamp the image just set it aside a minute or to then grab that You're So Fine Glitter, finger and all right in the bottle of glitter and rub it directly on to the glue stamped image. Since I'm "up here" in Canada and not enjoying a day off stuffing myself silly with Turkey and all the trimmings, I thought I'd pop on here and wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving to all of my neighbors to the "south".

Quilt Ecstasy Gift Set

Welcome back!

I am so glad that you stopped by to see my project .

This week the Design Team ladies have been sharing Card Sets for gift giving. I made a set using Quilt Ecstasy by The Rubber Cafe.

This is the folder that the cards are in.

It will hold 4-6 cards and envelopes.

To make the folder for the cards you start with a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardstock.

Score at 5 1/2 inches on the 11" side. Score at 2 1/4 inches on the 8 1/2" side. Fold on the score lines and then cut out the V.

Thread the ribbon so that it holds the cards and envelopes in place.

Here is a close up look at one of the cards.

I used Scrap Happy Glue to securely hold everything together. The images are stamped on Pugnacious signature paper and are colored with copic markers!

I made these two cards as part of a gift set for this weeks challenge. I must admit though I feel a little lazy compared to the other girls with them making matching boxes and envelopes LOL.

Anyways I used the stamps from "A Pug for The Holidays" and "Bah Hum-Pug"

I colored them with Copics and mounted them on cardstock and again on pattered paper. I used a couple of border punches I had (Threading water and a paw print one) and using One & Only tape I adhered some pompom trim.

I'll share a secret with you, do you see the blue card... well notice how the sentiment is popped up and distressed around the edges.... well the original sentiment is under that but I had accidentally stamped it crooked SO I re-stamped it and trimmed it out and popped it up over the original. No point in throwing out a perfectly good dog image. ;)

I made one Pouch (template found on SCS HERE) and three cards and home made envelopes to go.

Winter Sampler Card Box

Michelle here with another card set for The Rubber Cafe...today's set is a boxed set of A2 cards. I followed the tutorial on SCS for the A2 Card Box.

My first card features the Winter Bird image which I colored with Copic Markers and then fussy cut. I layered it on a Spellbineer's Beaded Circle and embellished it with some embossing folders and snowflake punches.

My second card features images from the Christmas Tidings set. I added a ribbon rosette, some gems and some glaze to the holly berries.

My third card features another image from the Christmas Tidings set. I added some You're So Fine Diamond Clear Glitter.

My fourth card features the Pine Wreath which I colored and fussy cut. I layered it onto Spellbinder's Labels Three.

And finally, here is the gift box with the cards/envelopes enclosed. I stamped the cardstock with the Pine Bough image which I inked with Tim Holtz Peeled Paint and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.

Gift Idea: Card Set to Go!

I really love this week’s challenge to make a card set for gift-giving. There are so many possibilities with this one that it was hard to narrow down what I wanted to do. Then I saw this Card Pouch tutorial over at Splitcoast Stampers and I completely had to stop what I was working on and do it instead!
Do you ever do that? Stop in the middle of a project and change course? Well I’m sure glad I did.

This little pouch is super easy to make and it came together quickly. I’m going to be making more of these to keep on hand for emergency gifts and also I think my daughter’s teacher will really enjoy something like this too.

For the little cards I used the sentiments from the J-1095 Fabulous Phrases set. They fit perfectly in one of my hole punches I had in my stash.

Here’s a look at the inside of the card pouch. The card fits nicely inside.

One other thing I got to play with was the T000-0001 Goosebumps texture spray. This product is so much fun! Just spray it on and let it dry. Easy peasy!

I wanted the outside of my pouch and the cards to look like they were covered in melting snow. This technique is great to do if you don’t want to have the look of embossing but want something fun for a texture.

It does look like melting snow doesn’t it??

You can really see the texture and the lovely sentiments in these photos. The ‘Get Well’ card is using less spray and the ‘Thanks’ card behind it is using an all over application of the spray.

Well I hope you’ve enjoyed my project this week and are inspired to create your own. There’s just a little over a month left before Christmas and it will be here before you know it!

Holiday Quick & Easy

Happy Friday Everyone, Terre here with some quick and easy cards to give as little gifts.

I used some cards I found at a local store in the dollar bin, re purposed them using some of the amazing products from The Rubber Cafe. I used Thank You 3 as my stamped sentiment for my Thank You cards.

I die cut S5-030 Fancy Tags Two from Spellbinders™ and added some Nestabling™ .

I added some Holly Red Jellie Dots to the cards along with the You're So Fine Terrifically Teal Glitter to the leaves on the wreath.

My last card was also fast and simple I used all the same products on all 3 cards.I used S4-290 Labels Fourteen along with Labels Fourteen Nestabling™. I stamped my envelops using Swirled Ball with Hanging Ribbon and instead of ink I used the Scrap Happy Glue, then I rubbed glitter over the stamped image.

Snowflake Gift Bag

Happy Wednesday!

The design team has been showing you some elegant ways to wrap up your holiday gifts this week and today I have decorated a gift bag to share with you.

I started out with a small white gift bag that I got a Michael's and with a little stamping ended up with this beauty!

Here's a close up look at the snowflake panel. I stamped Elegant Snowflake Border several times on a white panel in Blue Lagoon Fluid Chalk ink. I had some metal snow flakes that were about the same size as some of the snowflakes so I adhered them to the bag using Scrap Happy Glue.

I stamped Gift Tag in black ink on a white scrap and trimmed it. I die cut a Spellbinders scalloped edge rectangle which I cut in half and glued back together to make it a little smaller so it framed the tag more evenly. I used a Hot Aqua Sharpie to out line the swirls and dots and glued a metal snowflake to the tag. Then I punched a hole in the tag and tied it on with ribbons.

The top is just a 1 1/2" strip of card stock that I punched the lower edge of and glued to the bag.

Holiday tag

This weeks challenge is to make some Elegant gift wrapping or Fancy Tags and I chose a tag.

I'm not sure if it qualifies as "Fancy" but I like it. :)

I took a manila #5 shipping tag, stamped it with Pattern Royal in green Momento Ink, I then sprayed it with a brown GlimmerMist ink, I wrinkled it and then flattened it. I inked the edges and wrinkles with TimHoltz Walnut ink. I inked the lace and flowers and sentiment (warm wishes) with the same ink. I adhered the lace with The One & Only Tape and I used Label Eight to cut out the sentiment. I put 3 green Jellie dots in the centre of the flowers. I also colored the ribbon green that I fed through the hole with ProMarkers. (never buy colored ribbon again, just use your Copics or ProMarkers for custom colors)

I've really find that I'm liking decorating tags, I've joined a few swaps lately and I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. If you've made some tags I'd love to see them. :)

Happy Monday! I love gift wrapping and making treat boxes. Here is a quite simple box with tag I whipped up with the Pine Wreath stamp. Love this one, I use it over and over again!

The Wreath is a perfect fit to the Spellbinders Circles nesties.

I stamped the wreath with Distress ink and colored the ribbon with a tombow pen.

Treat Box Card and Tag

This week's challenge is to make holiday gift wrapping and a tag. For this challenge I went with the SplitcoastStampers tutorial for a Treat Box Card. This little goodie holds five Hershey's Nuggets and a tag. Package it up in a cello bag and you have a fun little gift!

I used the following stamps: Christmas Tidings (Happy Holidays) and Ornamental Holiday (sentiment) and Winter Fun Labrador and Kitty.

You could just as easily tuck a gift card in with the tag...the options are endless! I used the Scor-Pal and Scor-Bug on this project.

I modified the box a tad and added a snowflake border because I wanted to decorate it with Candi!
I used Spellbinders Dies and Copic Markers on my project: W7, W5, W3, R89, R29, YG95, YG93.

Special Touches with Gift Wrapping

I always like to add that extra something special to my gift wrapping for every person I give a gift to. I guess it is my way of showing that person how special they are to me.

So for this challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do in creating my own wrapping paper:

I love the background stamps at The Rubber Café because they are so interesting in and of themselves. . especially this I-986 Roaring 20’s Placard!

Simply stamp repeatedly to make a seamless background. Then using the Spellbinders™ Grand Calibur simply cut the #2 fancy tag from S5-031 Fancy Tags Three and you've got yourself a tag.

I also made a small ornament embellishment using shrinking dinks and our I-980 Swirled Ornament with Hanging Ribbon stamp. I simply topped it off with some glossy accents and that was it! So simple but yet very elegant.

I hope I’ve inspired you to make your wrapping a little bit more interesting. Would love to see what you come up with.

Holiday Thank You

Happy Friday Everyone! I am sure you all are feeling that the holiday's are coming up really fast, I know I am. Today I have a quick and simple but elegant way to give someone a treat in a handmade package. I had this sheer drawstring bag laying around so I took some of my Scrap Happy Glue and I pounced, yes I said pounced glue all over my stamp, the adorable G-708 Having a Ball and I let it set for a couple of seconds then I took out my You're So Fine Terrifically Teal Glitter and rubbed it all over the stamped image.

The neat thing about this is it was so fast and simple, I could do several of these as fast gifts and i can still say it was hand made.

I then took some white card stock stamped J-1095 Fabulous Phrases, air brushed some color using Copic Markers and added some Nestabling™ to Spellbinders™ S5-030 Fancy Tags Two. Well I hope you have fun creating your own handmade gift wrap, crafty smiles.

Warren & Friends Ornament

They are the most adorable images from Craftworkcards! For this weeks ornament challenge I thought I would make a fun paper ornament that features four of the new images.

To make this ornament I die cut four Spellbinders scallop edged circles out of dark red cardstock. Then I stamped four different images

(Having a Ball, Warm & Cozy Warren, Shooting Star Warren, & Warren & Frosty)

on die cut circles of Pugnacious White paper. I colored the images with Copic markers.

I covered each of the image panels with paper Mod Podge and sprinkled a little bit of Diamond Cool Clear Highlight Glitter over the top. Then I followed with one more coat of Mod Podge to seal the glitter and strengthen the panel.

I folded the dark red panels in half and glued the sides together to make two halves of the ornament.

Before gluing the two halves together I gathered up some gold chord and glued it to one half before gluing the two halves together to create the ornament base. (I hope that makes sense!)

It was hard to get a good picture of the ornament but hopefully you get the general idea and after looking at all the design team samples this week I hope you are full of inspiration to make some wonderful ornaments on your own!
